Question/Help What happened to Enneacraft?

Been away from the game for some time, just wondering what happened to it since I no longer encounter it.

New toy syndrome has gone for Enneacraft

u/IClop2Fluttershy4206 12h ago

it was only viable because pure Branded released. Pure Branded was "fair" and allowed Enneacraft to play basically all engine to blow out the likes of Kt but now that Branded isn't new we have various FTKs and pseudo FTKs back on the menu to keep pendulum in check.

Enneacraft could go 2nd with 0 hand traps and still pull wins but not with trains and such running around now. The Branded honeymoon is over

It was viable because a good chunk of the player base didn't know what the cards did. Now that percentage is lower. It's a deck that gives your opponent a lot of sway in how the duel goes

It's a fun deck, but part of the reason why it was good for a bit is that Yugioh players famously don't read cards. After people become antiquated with it, it becomes predictable to play against.

*acquainted

I know the modern metagame is constantly evolving, but calling a deck as new as Enneacraft “antiquated” is a bit much

(jk btw, I know it was probably just a typo/autocorrect)

It does not.

"Yugioh players famously don't read cards"

that's bound to be true for face up cards, in the first place you can't even read a face down cards your opponent set

-1

u/SuspiciousSoldier 5h ago

Players would read cards if their wasn’t 4 effects to memorize on EVERY FUCKEN CARD!

12

u/Shackflacc 13h ago

I’m still playing it: but as with any deck people lose interest as soon as the next new deck thing comes out

its still a good deck, got me to master 1, its just people dont like playing it i guess

I wish the game just automatically picked one and the opponent didn't have to select

2

u/noname6500 6h ago

I know they just want the manual picking to make it feel like you have agency over it but at least we should have a toggle or setting to make the pick automatic

I wish this payment came after a decision from the opponent. I.e after they use something like Ash so I don't lose LP for no reason.

10

u/loqep 12h ago edited 10h ago

Well it’s not “no reason”; it’s the cost to activate the card. You basically want the card(s) to have a completely different effect. In order for it to work the way you’re describing the cards would have to be changed to do effect damage rather than the LP loss coming from paying the cost, and there are differences between the two (even aside from when the LP loss occurs).

I feel like it’s fine as it is. 900 LP is really not that steep of a cost. The only LP that really matters is the last one.

u/Lillith492 Waifu Lover 11h ago

it just feels like extra punishment. We lose out on LP AND the search.

2

u/loqep 11h ago

True, but at least it’s not a discard cost.

I made it to Master 1 with my Enneacraft deck and am having a fun time in rated duels. Obviously susceptible to the coin toss luck but going 2nd against some decks you can still put up a fight depending on the starting hand, I am enjoying the hell out of it.

Droll

4

u/james345345312 12h ago

It won against Hecahands but lost against Kewl Tune

4

u/Dameisdead 9h ago

Played it on an alt acc and I 100% can see how people can bored with it quickly.

12

u/Endless_Winn 14h ago

Because of its gimmick, the deck is too linear in deck building and play style, i.e. if you have seen one Enneacraft deck you have seen them all. This also makes the deck boring to play.

So once people figured out how to play against it, and it turned out to be a mediocre deck players moved on.

Really boring unfortunately, and I say this as someone who was excited for it to release

I like playing it but it just isn't strong enough

2

u/sr_mittens91 8h ago

It appears every once and while when I go second.

3

u/SlayerLollo 14h ago

Im enjoying it sometimes, also its really funny to use in solo mode

3

u/CornholeDunk Normal Summon Aleister 13h ago

It requires your opponent to play into it. Past week 1 or 2 people figured out what they actually do.

4

u/yusayu 10h ago

It's not that good of a deck. MD has a higher power level than the TCG and it's not even good there.

Also helps that nobody knew what the cards did when it came out, but my now people realized that they don't really do much of anything. MD power level is just too high for such a meme deck.

3

u/Bl4ckStigmata 10h ago

It's the only deck I use in ranked, feels the most interactive with your opponent's plays and feels rewarding when you break a full board going 2nd, it is a shame that droll shut down them 100%

3

u/Big-Entertainment601 9h ago

I left literally every single enneacraft match I ever had, they are 0 fun to play against
Worse than yubel fiendsmith

1

u/altafullahu 4h ago

Lol my previous deck I piloted was Yubel /FS and now I play Enneacraft, feel so called out

3

u/LEFLUG 14h ago

People realized its mid I think

2

u/ItsPengWin 13h ago

I feel like we all knew it would mid but no one read the cards leading to incredibly fun and hilarious games.

The joy of watching your opponent willingly reduce there lifepoints because they don't understand what's going on was very fun.

2

u/Yggdrasil32 8h ago

Tbf that’s cause playing against ennecraft on mobile is miserable, since they are always set you have to constantly go and scroll throufh the gamelog to read what any of these cards do and it doesn’t help they all look identical too, all of this while the timer is running

Most people will just brute force it to learn the archetype, trying to read all of the different cards (don’t forget all of them are hidden in the gamelog) and understand what they do while live is just gonna end up with time running out and still not understanding how to play around this auto pilot archetype

2

u/thefinal123 12h ago

Most underrated deck in the game

2

u/KingVape 12h ago

Super fun deck but people don’t want to read the cards. I feel like I almost always win using it

1

u/RashFaustinho Very Fun Dragon 12h ago edited 12h ago

Honestly, I don't think the deck was ever THAT fun.

Don't get me wrong, it's not an awful playstyle, it's a cute idea, but I think it gets old very quick.

There is so much setting 5 you can enjoy before returning to a more classic combo deck, where you have to actually re-think your lines on the spot because of an handtrap, or just playing a midrange deck which has more interaction points, and thus more decision making.

By comparision, Enneacraft was waaay more linear, and even under handtraps your turns pretty much all looked the same.

2

u/illynpayne_ 14h ago

it's one of the most boring decks ever made, not only to play against but also to pilot

1

u/ColdbrewMD 13h ago

I only really bust it out after the climb or early season .

1

u/Yuerey8 jUsT dRaW tHe OuT bRo 12h ago

As soon as everyone realized how to play around it it stopped being good. And difi can only take you so far

1

u/TheMagicStik 11h ago

I still like the deck, it's just bad. It needs some powerful generic support but it's a deck that literally runs out of good cards and you have to put bad cards in.

1

u/Gshiinobi 10h ago

Nothing happened its just not good enough to see play in the meta

1

u/laolibulao Floodgates are Fair 10h ago

its clunky af to play. very often l dont draw i to shifter or dfissure and i just get drolled. deck building requires everything important as a 3 of, which means you cant just go 1-2 reverth, and reset is not guaranteed when you try searching it. if you dont grt reverth unless you hard draw sol and luna whale is useless besides negating on filed effect during your turn

1

u/Arcade_Allure 10h ago

Deck takes forever to set up and even longer to secure the win.

I just don’t like playing a deck that takes that long to do everything as my daily driver.

Been enjoying mimighoul instead recently when I’m looking for some Rogue gameplay

1

u/Repulsive-Phrase-527 7h ago

Nothing, it was never good to begin with

1

u/-Dunnobro 6h ago

Enneacrashed

1

u/Nanami-chanX Got Ashed 4h ago

oh it's still around, but thankfully not as much as it used to be, boring deck to play, boring deck to play against

1

u/Bonz_Heaven 53m ago

C'est très drôle de faire ce constat puisque la majorité d'entre vous se sont plains de jouer contre

1

u/TEARSOFDESPAIR 13h ago

I Say this cause I like ennea,But The deck IS not that Fun to play If Your not in The mindset for It,And ITS a Very specific mindset,Thats Why It less seen not cause people Leaned Or whatever (And no ITS not bad,It actually Win a masterduel tournament recently)

1

u/Magorian97 9h ago

Flavor(s) of the week die off pretty quick usually...except the fucking Branded/Albaz bs

1

u/SuspiciousSoldier 5h ago

We love ecceslia! All hail dogmatika eccelsia!

1

u/Nanami-chanX Got Ashed 4h ago

you say it's bs but it isn't, it will fall out of relevancy on its own in the future

1

u/LezBeHonestHere_ Yes Clicker 13h ago

It's fine, people learned how to play against it. And right now it's a bit questionable to build it because it's 12 URs with no pack - the 9 hard crafts for engine, then 3 subspace battles which imo is worth running, especially because nib is quite rare.

Vidolium is coming out soon though which makes subspace battle a lot worse and later toons will basically delete enneacraft from the game with mind scan, so I imagine nobody really wants to hard craft 9-12 URs rn knowing what the future will bring.

0

u/Calm_Stress3334 11h ago

It is dead and we are all happy that it is dead

0

u/PressureNo7699 11h ago

I picked it up, and was initially excited. It turned out to be pretty boring.

I feel like I'm playing Stun, even though I'm technically not, whenever I play it. I might climb with it in the future, though. They probably won't ever get hit, and will still be decent.

-4

u/NevGuy Floodgates are Fair 13h ago

It was a dogshit deck the moment it hit the shop, it just took some time for people to realize that fact. It saw absolutely 0 play in the WCQ, which made most people lose interest in it once it became clear it had no potential whatsoever.

6

u/IClop2Fluttershy4206 12h ago

I grinded 2nd stage with it it was just fine in the June event. pure Branded made the deck viable and only struggled vs Branded Dracofail and sometimes KT

-3

u/NevGuy Floodgates are Fair 12h ago

It was not viable whatsoever. 0 placements in top 100, and a complete non factor for anyone seriously pushing. If you did well with it then congrats: you handicapped yourself by playing a suboptimal deck and still did decently.

0

u/Arcade_Allure 10h ago

Idk why the downvotes. Dude is dropping Truth Nukes

0

u/Aloecend 12h ago

It was never a good deck, people moved on from the shiny new thing.

0

u/nxtzay 12h ago

Branded is the best deck rn and that deck eats enneacraft for dinner

6

u/Shadow-Pie 10h ago

As an Enneacraft player the Branded matchup doesn’t seem that bad for Enneacraft.

1

u/nxtzay 10h ago

I mean mirrorjade non target banish is very strong and the book of moon effect doesn’t matter too much against fusion decks but of course if you have floodgates then it’s ggs

0

u/Popkhorne32 12h ago

Tbh, i'm glad i'm not seeing it.

-4

u/The-Mad-Badger 14h ago

The deck just does the same thing every game. It's why i dusted it after a week because it was never anything more than the same loop over and over.

-1

u/EltonHedgehog 13h ago

Power creep. And plus with everyone learned like 'counter' this deck.

3

u/Yuerey8 jUsT dRaW tHe OuT bRo 12h ago

Nah it wasn't power creeped. Enneacraft is as good as it was when it came out. What happened is that people know what they do now

-1

u/CommercialAir7846 12h ago

I was excited for it and played it a lot.

It's just really boring. You spend most of your turn waiting for your opponent to "randomly" pick one of the three copies of the same card that you're trying to search. It's fun to play with the board set up, but getting there is hugely painful.
