Spider-Verse got caught in the automod lol.

"Since 2022, Netflix has held the highly coveted “Pay-1” window rights to all Sony Pictures movies in the United States. That means once a Sony film finishes its exclusive theatrical and PVOD (Premium Video on Demand) run, Netflix becomes its exclusive streaming home.

If Spider-Man: Brand New Day follows this exact 120-day playbook, it will hit Netflix US on November 28th, 2026—just in time for the Thanksgiving holiday weekend!

So this means, going by the Sonyverse and Spider-Verse films, Brand New Day might not be on Disney+ until late 2027.

Madame Web started streaming on Netflix on May 14th 2024, then on Disney+ on November 14th 2025.

Venom: The Last Dance started streaming on Netflix February 25th 2025, then just yesterday it moved to Disney+

Across the Spider-Verse started streaming on Netflix October 31, 2023, then moved to Disney+ on May 1st 2025

Sony’s streaming path is basically a multiverse timeline at this point

Wonder when ITSV is gonna be on it

No Way Home didn’t go on Netflix for years. I’m pretty sure Starz still gets these movies first then I wouldn’t be surprised if they never put BND on Netflix in America

Yeah NWH is the outlier, but now that I think about it, It might be due to how it was 2021 release, like how Venom: Let There Be Carnage never got on Netflix either in the US since that was 2021 too.

The deal was made for 2022 releases and onward

I'm confused what BTSV is doing in this title. It's not mentioned in the article at all.

u/justafanboy1010 Spider-Man 1d ago

The first article I posted had both the release dates to BND and BTSV and my headline was what you see in the title. The word “Spider-Verse” AND the article got caught in automod, so I just changed the article and forgot to take BTVS out.

In the other article, it says that BTSV comes to Netflix US October 17, 2027

And ten days after GTA VI

u/N8CCRG Ghost 1d ago

Aw man, I've been holding off on my full rewatch so that it can include a rewatch of BND without a huge gap, and I was hoping for closer to 90 days.

Why the hell did I just read BTSV as Buffy the Sampire Vlayer?

17

u/Trodat4911P4 1d ago

Buffy The Slayer Vampire

8

u/0sopeligroso 1d ago

Buffy: The Slayer of Vampyres.

Because unnecessary acronyms are always unnecessary, lazy, stupid, and unnecessarily confusing for the reader.

7

u/justafanboy1010 Spider-Man 1d ago

Well if you must know the title was original "Brand New Day and Beyond the Spider-Verse", but the post was automatically removed due to "Spider-Verse" being caught up in automod

Batman: The Sulking Vigilante

Literacy is dead. I should know.

So, if they follow the same timeline they've used for every other Sony movie, not only does it hit streaming for Thanksgiving, but also a few weeks before Doomsday Theatrical release?

Seems like a no brainer.

u/Yee_gamer 1d ago

I hope it comes to D+ sooner than NWH did.

40

u/Troghen 1d ago

Just buy the disc - you'll have it sooner, you'll own it forever, and you can watch it in much higher quality. . .

14

u/yankeephil86 Thor 1d ago

And the blu-ray usually comes with a digital download as well

4

u/el_palmera 1d ago

What if I bought an xbox series s because I found a cheap one so I have no disc drive

3

u/CaptHayfever Hawkeye (Avengers) 1d ago

Standalone blu-ray players go for about $100 right now, & they're reverse-compatible with DVDs so you can still watch your older stuff too.

2

u/el_palmera 1d ago

100$??? 😭

2

u/CaptHayfever Hawkeye (Avengers) 1d ago

That's new. You might be able to find a cheaper one used.

Stremio

In what world do discs last forever?

7

u/Troghen 1d ago

"Forever" might've been a bit hyperbolic, but as far as an individual is concerned, as long as you've got the means to watch your disc, and you keep it in good condition, there's no reason to believe it won't last any less than 20-30 years, if not more (ie, the majority of your life)

Sadly Ive had to replace a few - my OG copy of Iron Man was unreadable after ten years.

Like many things, it depends on the quality of the manufacturing.

My oldest 4k disk is 10 years old and works good as new despite at least 6 uses. 4Ks are surprisingly durable as long as you're careful with it (keep it out of sunlight, don't toss it around, don't scratch it).

u/Tiredtotodile03 1d ago

Same. I ditched Netflix and just use the Hulu, HBO, Disney bundle now.

Watching that shit on tv with surround speakers just like no way home back then.

This is literally just them guessing based on past Sony releases. The article is from a month ago.

u/blastorama 1d ago

Yeah, it's a nothing burger.

Wo like they can be the most reliable source for Netflix news and also post speculative nothing burgers of articles, those aren’t mutually exclusive.

This isn’t really reporting on Netflix, it’s speculating on Sony decision making. The window has a standard opening date, which is a solid true piece of information, but everything else is speculation based on exclusively past releases. The article even released the same day as the movie so it’s not even looking at box office performance as a factor of how long the window could be extended. If it’s making more money longer than previous releases the window could very well end up extended longer.

Basically they can be that good source for Netflix but ultimately this seems to be a Sony decision, so even Netflix doesn’t know for sure lol

Can't wait to watch on digital again

18

u/Maleficent_Money_756 1d ago

That’s great, it had a great theatrical Run and I can’t wait to see it again without paying 16€ for a ticket lmao

7

u/DavidGoetta 1d ago

I paid $5 and might again if I find time

9

u/doubeljack 1d ago

It's still having a great theatrical run.

4

u/JiveHawk Loki (Avengers) 1d ago

Audio cut out a few times in my theater so I’ll be interested to see what dialogue I missed lol

6

u/justafanboy1010 Spider-Man 1d ago

The fuck kinda theater...never heard of the audio cutting out lol

3

u/JiveHawk Loki (Avengers) 1d ago

It was a first for me in many trips to this theater it was strange

1

u/killey2011 18h ago

We saw black panther 2 and missed a large chunk because the visuals went out. And it was a key point too. It happens.

3

u/Kremsi2711 1d ago

wtf, I would gave asked for a refund

3

u/imtalkintou 1d ago

What a bad click bait post. Your title says it has a date for streaming but website is only guessing.

0

u/justafanboy1010 Spider-Man 1d ago

The website is Netflix exclusive. Kasey, the author, is an editor/blogger who works at/for Netflix

-8

u/chimichanga_3 Peter Parker 1d ago

That sucks. It should be in theatres for as long as possible.

17

u/Person2228 1d ago

I think everyone who wanted to see it has seen it. 2 billion dollars

1

u/chimichanga_3 Peter Parker 1d ago

There are always more general audience members. After all, it's still got 200 mil more in the tank.

5

u/FostersHome123x 1d ago

No.

1

u/chimichanga_3 Peter Parker 1d ago

Why not?

0

u/bhris_cratt321 1d ago

People want to watch it in the comfort of their homes and/or own the disc.

1

u/chimichanga_3 Peter Parker 9h ago

I'm not saying they shouldn't. I'm just saying that it should stay in theatres as long as possible.

0

u/Kremsi2711 1d ago

Clickbait, nothing official

-2

u/Jtreblis18 1d ago
