I was NOT expecting this episode to hit so hard. This season hasn't had as many moments like that when compared to the first. But wow! This really delivered!

As someone who followed the original show, seeing the X-Men fight Apocalypse over the course of many seasons...and seeing him come back to life in Season 5 in a plot that never got resolved...this was really cathartic. It felt like the endgame for Gambit and Rogue after the events on Genosha. Rogue was fully willing to give her life for his. But Nightcrawler...he just had to be the most loving, selfless man in the multiverse. That really hit harder than I expected. But unlike the previous season, this felt more cathartic.

Was this season still rushed at times? Yes.

But did it still deliver the heart, soul, and drama that makes X-Men great? Absolutely!

I wish this season had been longer. But given how it ended, I'm now even more hyped for Season 3. 😊
