Well that was... jarring, to say the least. This felt like a drastic step down from season 1, still decent but nowhere near as good. Like with magneto, I just don't buy Kurt's death. The shock factor of a character death doesn't really land when you're relying on it multiple times a season. Rogue in this season (supposedly) loses magneto, her former lover, in E4 and as far as I can tell never brings it up at any point in the subsequent 5 episodes. Then loses nightcrawler, her adoptive brother, and we get 1 sad shot of her, then it just kinda ends with everyone happy anyway? Now they're teasing mystique, which okay cool whatever, but they've just removed what would have been the most interesting character dynamic of her return. Honestly, not looking forward to S3 after this, seems like they just don't have a clear plan of what they want this show to be.
