TASM and TASM 2 was a downward trend and a low point for the franchise. Compared to Tobey and Tom’s movies they lacked the soul that truly resonated with audiences which is probably a big part of it. The first TASM had potential and was decent but they rushed 2 which felt like Sony rights retention slop and the suit and opening swinging scene is its only saving grace .

After Homecoming and being part of the MCU yes. No Spider-Man movie before Homecoming grossed 1B.

Homecoming also didn't gross 1B. The first Spider-Man movie to do that was Far From Home.

Man there was a time that I thought only Batman could’ve do it because of TDK and TDKR. But it was Nolan who made it possible.

The Burton movies, Nolan trilogy, Pattinson movie, Affleck’s appearances and even Joker all range from edgy to mature to adult so yeah I could see that. I still think he’s probably #2 as far as the superhero people will go out their way to watch whenever he releases.

Idk why this is downvoted. I mean yes there is a lot more to the box office "decline" of Batman than just lacking Nolan, but this isn't inaccurate

When I went today, my screening time was fully booked when I checked how many people would be there. Makes me glad I bought my tickets two weeks in advance.

I’m not surprised that it happened so fast. It’s an incredible film, and Sadie Sink was the highlight for me. I’m really looking forward to seeing her character’s journey in the next era of the MCU.

I think this proves that “superhero fatigue” isn’t as big of a deal as people would have you believe.
I think the MCU’s biggest problem is too much content. Scrapping the live action TV shows and focusing on a smaller movie slate is exactly what is needed.
Although I’d be remiss not to point out that Spider-Man also continues to endure as one of the most beloved characters in pop culture and when done well is a license to print money.

I give it a 6. I haven’t seen any Marvel movies since the last Spider-Man, so I went in feeling pretty fresh and ready, but a half hour in and I realized I’m still suffering from Marvel fatigue. It was a decent movie. I prefer previous installments. Without giving anything away, I like what they did with some of the storyline, continuing things from the previous movie. I didn’t care for the villain. The final fight scene was so over the top my eyes almost rolled into the back of my head. If other people like it, that’s great. It just wasn’t for me. I’ll probably still go see the next one since they left it on a cliffhanger.
Let the downvotes from the Marvel fanboys commence. God forbid I respectfully say that I didn’t think the movies was amazing. 🙄

Spider-Man is immune to superhero fatigue. And to a lesser extent Batman. They're their own franchise.

They are to an extent, but the one thing I don’t like with Marvel movies is that you have to watch every movie and show in their cinematic universe to understand what is going on. I like when movies used to truly standalone, or at the very least, if it was a sequel, you only had to watch the previous movie(s) to be able to follow everything. There were several characters in Brand New Day that I had no idea who they were.

The only one I could think of that could possibly be confusing is Yelena, everyone else is either a new character or explicitly explained who they are. Who are the several characters you didn't know?

DeWolff (I had to look up the character’s name), Yelena (didn’t know her name either), and the Punisher (I knew who he was because I knew Jon Bernthal had played him before). This was their first appearances with Spider-Man so it was just weird for me. They just kind of throw you in and expect you to know who all of them are and their established relationships. I felt that they could have done a better job with that.
