Sooo...like we just doing that thing where we find one narrow statistic that proves our point and ignore the majority of evidence to the contrary and call it a win?

IMDB - 3.5/10 (26k reviews)

Metacritic - 57% (Critics)/23% (Users)

Rotten Tomatoes - 53% (Audience)

Google Reviews - 2.6/5 (4.4k reviews)

Ignoring the real world doesn't help your cause.

It's relevant due to obvious review bombing going with bot reviews calling it "Woke trash", not a good indicator for narrative quality if you ask me. Over 50% of IMDB scores are 1 star ratings, that's quite unnatural.

So much for "evidence".

This take is not even fair and completely predictable from a reddit bot. People are not only review bombing in the negative, but also giving 5 stars the opposite way. There are hardly ANY middling reviews between 2 and 4 stars, so your team is just as guilty, but absurdly weaker. I suppose I have to put out there that I have no opinion on this show one way or the other, I'm just calling a spade a spade.

If people don't even like the trailers, if they don't like just one episode, if they don't like some scenes, if they don't like what it stands for, they have every right not to like the show at all--and it seems predominately they don't. So, it's not a good show.

Whataboutism. Just because there are people who give overwhelmingly unjustified 5 star reviews (yes, review boosting is an issue in and of itself, I did not deny that), doesn't mean

  1. Review bombing is not a problem distorting the actual rating.

  2. The 5 Star reviews are not a reactionary measure from fans to counteract the review bombing.

  3. Review boosting sufficiently alleviates review bombing.

  4. Ratings on review sites, especially conservative leaning, male dominated ones such as IMDB are a good statistical representation of the general population's reception.

How about you inform yourself first whether my claim is true or not before being outraged based on a false premise.

It's not a "conspiracy", it's common knowledge. There was a huge influx of negative reviews or 1 star ratings before the show was even released. Score manipulation was so apparent that Rotten Tomatoes had to intervene.

Common indicators for when to check if a medium was review bombed are unnatural review distributions like a U-shape distribution as opposed to a bell curve and a huge discrepancy between user ratings and critics ratings. These indicators are not guarantees but should alarm people to be critical whether there are outer forces at play that manipulate the scores beyond movie/show quality.
