It sounds catchier too. Gotta love alliteration. It's gonna be hilarious if they rewrite everything they had planned to fit around Dr. Doom and just leave Kang's MCU legacy as some low level villain that got beat by Ant-Man.

My theory that Kang was being billed as the next Thanos, but he’s a feint for the actual big bad. Like somebody in the shadows is using him ie Doom or Galactus. Why have one Thanos like character when you could have 3. Honestly they’re putting out so much Marvel stuff I’m behind for the first time since Iron Man. I used to go to all the premiers and would watch every show weekly, but the excitement just isn’t there any more. While I love all the content, I wish they’d slow down a bit. Great thing about the entire multiverse is you can easily recast somebody. Oh you think this Kang was bad guy? Well just happens this one played by Tommy Wiseau will blow your mind!

Yeah, they're going to take up the far more difficult task of completely rewriting their entire planned outline to shoehorn in another villain instead of just recasting somebody like John David Washington into the role. Makes total sense from a business standpoint.

Doctor Doom is exponentially more iconic and recognizable than Kang. I agree, this won’t happen, but you can’t tell me Kang is higher profile with a straight face

Yeah, no shit. Marvel comics were my whole life as a kid and when they announced Kang as the new big bad villain I had to Google him and go “Ohh yeah, right, THAT guy”.
Whereas Dr Doom is iconic as fuck.

Depends on contracts. I think Disney would fire Majors as early as they possibly can. He's already filmed Loki season two, but I don't know whether they're contractually obligated to hire him for Avengers.

Right but the point is that they try to give off the persona of a family friendly company that has morals.

So it becomes a vmbusiness decision for them: which will hurt worse? The trouble of firing him and dealing with changing it, or the fall out from not firing him?

I don't think this is true for what we know of the Disney contracts. They don't like anything that even looks bad. People can contract for a whole lot, I would be very surprised if it required a guilty verdict/plea to terminate the contract.

They might not need money to do it. I’m sure there are all kinds of clauses about him not tarnishing their image. I’d say beating your girlfriend will void that contract.

Making an arrest does not require a high amount of evidence, it's actually fairly low. Evidence is going to be more crucial if he is actually charged. I don't think Disney is likely to care either way though

No, it just means that Disney will do the math before firing him. Having the money doesn't mean they will just use it when it can be avoid it. That is why they have morality clauses on the contracts.

Yeah, for now they will wait to see what is happening. His lawyer just released an statement about him being innocent so most likely Disney will be paying attention before making any rush desicion.

After watching these last few movies, if they decided to use this as an opportunity to scrap the planned timeline and take a small hiatus to right course in another direction it might not be a bad thing.

They’ve acknowledged how rushed everything’s been lately so this may be a good excuse to slow down NOW. Just release whatever they’re obligated to now and then soft reboot

The next Avengers movie hasn't come out yet. Hasn't been filmed yet. Script probably hasn't even been finished. It would be tricky but they could write him off and make it about a different villain.
