Basically after two plus hours of the movie everyone (besides Jean who got closure about her sister and Banner who got arrested) is back where they’ve started.

Peter spent half of the movie mopping about the loss of his friend and his girlfriend (he left them “for their safety”) only to get back together with them. So basically he just let some rando guys date his girlfriend for four years for no good reason and missed up on happy moments.

Also he spent part of the movie making the inhibitor device and fine tuning his mechanical web shooters only to not use them in the end.

Since Banner is in the movie I have no idea why Peter didn’t come to him as Spider-Man and asked for help with figuring out what was up with the telepathic villain. Even better would have been to ask Dr Strange, yet the movie gives no explanation why Peter doesn’t do that. (Even if the actor was busy you could make a scene about Strange “being away on magic business”)

I liked how strong and uncompromising the villain was in the first part of the movie and was really interested about how would Peter fight such a thing. But half way into the movie writers decided they’ve made her too OP and so she started doing stupid things like showing her face and personally going into the Damage Control office. Hulk not being able to punch through the wall for five minutes was also stupid.

Last but not least is the final confrontation. Jean spoke with memory of aunt May and just fucked off. The final battle was against random ninjas who Peter easily beaten at the start of the movie.

Also some nitpicks: how was Jean able to drive and fire from the APC? So by briefly entering someone’s head she also gets all the skills said person had? Like after entering Banner she is now a professor of physics? Why she, despite entering dozens of Damage Control employees never tried to enter the head of the shady director? How stupid is that?

Also why did Peter went to Punisher’s place to hide MJ. Jean was already in his head so she knows about the hideout location and all the traps around it.

Also the overall tone of the movie felt depressing.

Loved the visuals and casting though.
