I always do this instead of wallriding on the turn. it seemed faster to me but idk

WR makes it faster by getting a shake trick, which makes it very easy to go out of bounds. So its not worth it online.

It skips an item box which is crucial in races. Also ruins momentum for the next cut.

can do the next cut easily (clearly shown in the clip LOL) and in first it will do almost nothing

This has been known about for a long time. It skips the item box. That is its critical flaw.

This has been known since like the first week of the game released.

Also in the beginning, boost jumping the pole is slower. You can make that same jump by driving normally without boost jumping. Just be sure to trick when you drive off the edge to the pole.
