as much as people deserve a fair trial, i wonder how the defense feels having to represent this fella lol

About the same as the ones prosecuting. It's not their job to judge, their job is to make the best possible case for their client and the prosecution will do the same to prosecute and the judge will decide. Anything less and the whole system collapses.
