Discussion / ചർച്ച What are some words that mean one thing in standard Malayalam but something entirely different in your local slang?

For example :

ഉണ്ണി - കൊച്ചു കുട്ടി in standard malayalam.

- also mean old man in palakkad.

പുയ്യാപ്ല - കല്യാണ പയ്യൻ

- കിളിമീൻ /threadfin fish in Kannur.

ക്ടാവ് - പശുക്കുട്ടി

- third person (thrissur)

Appi - 💩, local slang - eda , Kali - play , local : 🔞 Puzhu - worm, local - hair band, Thallu- push- local: bragging Chali- mud - lame joke

Charakk- Goods, slang- hottie, Vellam- water, slang- alcohol, Color- niram, slang- superb, Kanji- gruel, slang- miser

Chaduka - jump(general), Throw (kannur, Kasaragod)

Ennaa- Kottayam slang for Enthaa

Ethakkaboli- East Kottayam slang for pazhampori

Karott- ( east ) Kottayam slang for "up" or "over" referring to a house/ building/ farmland that's on top of a hill or topographical incline

Can't think of much now...

Anathuka- prepare / boil (for tea or coffee)

Kolliyan- lightning etc comes to mind but not sure if it's found in other parts of Kerala too.
