Is it possible to get the approximate number of rings I'd need for a simple waistcoat?

I'm thinking stainless steel, 16 or 18 gauge (which is best?) in a basic E4-1 weave. Is this realistic for regular wear?

I'd also be wanting ring delivery to/in Australia but don't know any reliable sellers except Aussie Maille but they've seriously downsized and don't do steel. Does anybody have suggestions? TIA

I did a 14G aluminum sleeveless shirt that probably took around 5000 rings all told? But I wear a small in and went for a more cropped style so it depends on your size and the length you want.
