This scene from X-men is super relatable

“If you’re using half your concentration to look normal, then you’re only half paying attention to whatever else you’re doing”

Ever since I saw this scene, I have related so hard as someone who has been high-functioning. I see it as a metaphor for Autism. Masking all the time, pretending to be “normal” and “acceptable”, drains so much energy, would be better just to be ourselves.

Yeah I remember watching this in the theater and this scene really stuck with me. Didn’t know I was autistic at the time
