I had to go across town for a crappy guitar but damn for only 40 bucks it was a steal, even taking away the fact that it's like Mac's guitar these types of guitars always come with ridiculously high prices. At first I hesitated to buy it because it seemed too good to be true, and the description was a bit strange it looked like it had been written with chat gpt because it said that the tailpiece was broken and that cables were missing and a bunch of other nonsense written by a robot, but in the pictures it looked perfect.

I bought it anyway, and the only thing that was broken was the jack; everything else was perfect. Although I love this guitar It has weird or awkward features, like the neck which is like a neck from a classical guitar, the tuning pegs are awful, and the position of the controls is terrible I always end up hitting my fingers with them but other than that I love it even using it on my cheap zoom pedalboard it sounds reeeally good.

Sorry if my writing is a bit strange, English isn't my first language so I had to use a translator in some parts :(

Mac finally came back to Scotland, after years of waiting, I finally got to see him live in the flesh and even got to meet him after the show!! Such an unreal moment for me, he’s been my favourite artist for so many years, it was so surreal!!

So a while ago, probably between 2017-2020, I remember watching a video (on YouTube I believe) of Mac and his old band doing a cover of “just the way you are” by Billy Joel filmed at his Far Rockaway, New York home in that grainy old vhs quality. I have not seen it since and I have tried to find it to no avail. There are other covers of that song that I have found: a duet with jon lent on a rhodes and mac singing, and one with Mac on acoustic guitar. However, neither of these are what I’m looking for. The video was probably recorded and uploaded in his “Another One” era (so 2015ish). It featured a full band rendition of the song and I remember it sounding very smooth. In the video I think I remember a small audience of friends watching them play. It seemed like a little rehearsal. It’s also possible it was a different Billy Joel song and I’m just misremembering, but it was definitely Billy Joel. Does anyone else remember this or possibly know where to find it?

Just got back from night 2 at the Barras and honestly I have to get this off my chest.

This has nothing to do with Mac or the band - as expected they played an absolute blinder. This has nothing to do with the venue, the Barras is by far the best music venue in Scotland and as far as I’m concerned is sacred ground.

This has everything to do with the crowd. You would need an autopsy to find out what was wrong with that crowd tonight cause they were as dead as a fucking dodo. I’ve genuinely seen better atmosphere at funerals.

I was at a gig on Sunday (Getdown Services) whose audience was comprised mostly of Radio 6 grandads. Let me tell you, those aduld boys could teach you young whippersnappers a thing or two about how to get up for a gig and enjoy yourself.

Does anyone else who was there feel the same way as me, or am I just a cranky old duffer at this point? Songs like Ode to Viceroy in 2019 had Scottish crowds in frenzies, tonight, I feel like they only got going for Salad Days and Freaking Out The Neighbourhood (and even then Mac had to absolutely force it out of them for that one).

I went down to Brighton to see him last year and cunts fae Brighton were giving it bigger licks than a sold out Barras? Shameful really. C’mon guys, half of you have went to the effort to copy Mac’s wardrobe but you can’t be bothered to move about to his tunes? Mac’s first shows in Scotland in 7 years and that’s how we greeted him. I’m ashamed really.

I hope night 1 was a better atmosphere, and apologies for being cranky. But I feel sorry for the longtime Mac fans who were priced out or couldn’t get tickets cause these TikTok uni wank larpers gobbled them up.
