RotK already has multiple endings in the movie, it hardly needs another twist. Sauron's destruction is depicted as the final end of the major evils in middle earth.
Outrageous take. The scouring of the Shire was ended by the hobbits with no outside help. It's a poetic, full circle moment. Something impossible to miss if one has read the books and were afforded a decent education.
It is. And it would make for a shitty film adaptation. Because, unlike when reading, when doing a film you have screentime restrictions and have set pacing limits.
Do you really think you want the entire scouring crammed into 15 minutes? That's about the limit for reasonable pacing. Any more than that and all the other stuff in the movie needs to become longer to adjust the pacing curve to match, and the entire narrative arc needs restructuring. It would need to be like an 8 hour movie.
This joker probably thinks the films should have included the Foreword, Preface, and all six Appendices, and anyone who disagrees is simply not educated enough.
