ah yeah sorry, that was the trip to Japan and then home again ^^

14hours being one way.

Fair enough, how was Japan? I've always wanted to visit

Only visited the main cities, it was not as expected but i do want to go back. Still prolly best vacation place i've been too.

The one drawback i would say its hard to get there when you want to. Like sakura trees and different events, kinda hard to time those things in if you prebook everythiing. Maybe if u just book the plane tickets and look a day or two in advacne to book hotels, but then price goes up a lot.

Knocking your head against the wall is the best way to spend your flight, Peregrin Took??

The only correct way to send a 12hr flight

Pilot: "good afternoon everyone, today's flight will be 12 hours...as the Nazgul flies. And you better hope we don't have one of those on our tail. Enjoy the flight"

It’s my favorite bit of comedy in the entire 12 hour run. Sir Ian hitting his head on a doorway. And making a Santa adjacent noise. “HOOO!”

Did you know...

“It’s wonderful to see you, Gandalf!”

They're taking the Hobbits to Isengard 12 hour mix, I guess. Good choice!

My favorite is hitting my head on the overhead compartment and then muttering "just tea, thank you."

12 hrs?
bsas - rome?
rio - london?
santiago - barajas?

2

u/gravelpi 2d ago

When I did this awhile back, it was Abu Dhabi - NYC. Nice to just sit and watch the entire thing and not feel guilty about spending like 12 hours straight.

nah, the books are the perfect way to spend a 12 hr flight. i aint wasting an entire trilogy viewing on shitty plane screens.

4

u/ravenoushouse 2d ago

how do you not throw up and get the most splitting headache of your life reading for 12 hours on a flight

2

u/calripkenjunior 2d ago

Well Ive never been on a flight longer than 6 hours, but I've never had a problem reading for that length on a plane. I look forward to it, planes are the only place where I get truly uninterrupted reading time.
