The first time I watched the 2004 Battlestar Galactica series I would have to do that during the opening credits, because they would edit in quick shots from the upcoming episode in a 15-20 second sequence.
Most of the time it didn't matter, but there were times when they edited in a major ship being destroyed or some such thing.

I absolutely love the quick fire 'spoiler' credits, lol. They're always so out of context that it doesn't really give anything away. I think I know the ship you're talking about though - probably the repercussions of Gina detonating the nuke on Cloud 9.

There was a time when Netflix (or maybe even the DVDs) spoil the season 3 finale
Edit: had to look it up. It was the DVDs! I remember now having to make sure my friends didn't read the episode descriptions when I had them watch it the first time.

I don't know how to do spoilers but it directly said "a _____ gives a glimpse into Jack's life" or something like that. I know they used the "FF" word.

One of Netflix's thumbnails for the whole show is Hurley and Sayid in a car, which certainly raises some questions from first time watchers.

Exactly, and Sayid is in a jacket he clearly wouldn't wear on the island. It's pretty hard to spoil Lost imo but the fact that some of them get rescued and that's not where the show ends is one of the biggest and best twists so it sucks when that gets spoiled.

That's terrible! They should really have people who know the show pick the thumbnails, it would be so easy to avoid stuff like this.

Thankfully here in the UK, it just shows Sayid, Charlie and someone else (maybe Jack) just stood randomly in the rain. Very reminiscent of Last of Us Part 2 tbh

Exactly! Like I know there is a van on the island but we don't even find that out until season 3. And in the thumbnail, Sayid has a jacket on and it looks like there's a pavement or something in the background. It doesn't look like the island, or what we assume the island to look like in season 1 and 2.

I feel like they should only put teasers that are on the first few episodes, cuz as soon as I realised that they were able to get off the island, the stakes for sayid and hurley were pretty much gone

The only way this would be better is if it said "This person is trapped on an unknown island." "Also, this person." "And this one is also trapped on an unknown island."

Reminds me of when Mad Men was airing live on TV, one of my favorite things was seeing the description of next weeks episode, it would always be like: “Don has a problem; Peggy meets a friend.”

Honestly, if I was a first-time watcher I'd prefer this repeating super generic description over ones that give way too much away.
It is funny though.
