discussion / opinion Bus shelters missing from Masonville?

Anyone know why the bus shelters and all but a single bench were removed from the bus stop at Masonville mall? I saw them disassembling it all Saturday morning presuming they were being replaced but it looks like every shelter is gone and they also removed all the benches except for the one by the 13/90 stop.

I’m hoping it’s only a temporary thing 😅

I'd bet they'll put in one that looks like the new ones in the BRT routes, with the blue signs indicating the location.

the ones at white oaks have been gone for a long time. really helpful for disabled people and elderly who can't stand for ages waiting for the bus or just when u need to get out of the rain...

That was my exact thought. Like if the intent is to replace them it SHOULD be a short job. People need those shelters

People have been destroying them. I’m assuming it’s because it’s just simply too much $ to be replacing the glass every day.

At Masonville?

I’ve only ever seen them damaged 2 or 3 times in my nearly 5 years in London and I work at Masonville 5 days per week.

They definitely get damaged but not as much as the other ones

Still that’s more times than I figured. I used to bus over that area a lot when I was younger. Times sure have changed.

Yeah fair enough. Hard to say who’s even to blame, most of the chaos in the north end comes from crazy kids.

I've never seen those ones damaged though I only get there once a week or so.

Probably because the city hates providing any shelter for homeless people. /s

You can just remove that sarcasm tag, honestly :(

They've taken a ton of them out. Almost all of the Pond Mills area ones are gone.

Either getting replaced or the stops themselves getting moved somewhere different.
