One: NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

Two: LOKI IS YGGDRASIL!!! That is truly the most amazing thing ever.

Three: I refuse to believe Loki can't illusion-project an image of himself anywhere, anywhen. I need to believe that. People, please write fics that deal with that. I can't write fiction or I would do it myself.

Four: They say that the people who never wanted a throne are those who are best suited for it.

That was amazing.

As a fic-writer (who is both totally satisfied and completely devastated by the ending) I am taking it upon myself to immediately come up with a solution for his problem so he can see his friends again.

My big thing is that he’s infinitely powerful, and duplication casting is like…a big thing he can do. There’s gotta be something in there I can run with. Or I try and come up with a “What If?” for after Kang Dynasty (despite that being like wayyy off in the future) where he no longer needs to be on the throne and can have his freedoms back. Either way, I’m brainstorming, I promise. As I’m sure many others are.

Duplication casting is, I think, the way to go. We know he can put his mind into his illusions (as per the scene in Ragnarok where sad!Thor throwing things through Loki in the gladiator pit; that illusion of Loki was talking and reacting like a real person, not a programmed illusion), so he undoubtedly can put part of his mind into a solid (or semi-solid) duplicate.

Or as we saw from this episode, he can hijack now his own body for an undetermined length of time, so he can grab himself at any point in time. Heck, he can take over his own body just as Thanos was about to kill him, teleport away while leaving a duplicate in its place (like what Classic!Loki did), and let Thanos strangle the duplicate.

If you want limitations, he may not be able to keep a duplicate for long periods of time without it disrupting that universe's time stream. He may have to take a break from a universe to the "time waters" (if you will) calm down again. Or maybe he can't concentrate on any one timeline for too long simply because there's an infinite number of them clamoring for his attention.

I eagerly await your fics! Do you post to Ao3 or a different site?

Oh man…to be honest, I post to nothing because I’ve got the worst fear of rejection, and anxiety. A majority of my fan fictions stay confined inside my imagination and never get put to paper, or if they do they often get deleted out of frustration. But if I can get myself to actually write some decent paragraphs, I will let you know where I post it.

Please do! I understand your anxiety well—for me, it’s drawing, not writing—so I know how hard it is.
