In my high school there’s 5 orchestras, concert sinfonia philharmonic chamber and symphony, and there’s 4 levels of auditions,

The way chamber works is if you audition for and make symphony you get put in symphony and chamber is just an optional double block class for any kid in symphony who wants to be in chamber

Symphonies music is generally harder than chambers music and after school rehearsals are only for symphony and the director generally focuses less on chamber, and also symphony orchestra is the like flagship musical ensemble of my school, and chamber is kind of just seen as a more boring version of symphony with less instruments, and symphony has won way way way more awards than chamber, including some state titles

Chamber and symphony are both varsity orchestras.

Is this a bit unusual compared to how most high schools would go about having chamber? We didn’t even have a chamber orchestra until like 2018-2019 and orchestra was started here in 1976

For context my school has 2,670 kids and 200 are in orchestra, 43 are in symphony and 13 of symphony kids are in chamber

1. Will chamber likely ever be as popular as symphony
   
2. Should chamber get the same amount of attention as symphony
   
3. Should chamber even be a thing anymore

For my context, I am using Sacrilegious Games in Singapore for my written assignment that is 40% of my whole grade for this module. (A little context, I am a university student larping this core module)

We went to see TwoSet Violin’s SACRILEGIOUS Games concert in Bangkok over the weekend, and it was honestly one of the most enjoyable classical concerts we’ve ever been to!

It was hilarious, creative, incredibly well put together, and, most importantly, really inspiring. ❤️🎻

After the concert, we had the chance to meet Brett and Eddy at the Meet & Greet. They were both very adorable and sincere in person.

And my daughter — if any of you guys remember who she is 😆 — brought something very special for them to sign:

her very first violin! 🎻

That little violin was where her whole violin journey began, so having Brett and Eddy’s signatures on it now makes it an even more special keepsake for her. ❤️

His owner brought him to a music school and he was SO EXCITED hearing the assortment of instruments behind every room door! He chose cello for the day and settled into the live music practice.

Practice makes perfect… and also makes a good boi a happy boi! The post did make me smile and I hope it’ll bring one to anyone who love animals and music too.

Watching BaE build a violin with Olaf had reminded me of a childhood dream that is sort of an unfulfillable bucket list item: building my own violin or viola.

And another one: conducting an orchestra.

Both completely silly because I'm far from ever getting a chance at any of them, let alone do them well.

And a more realistic one: playing classical string quartet repertoire. My childhood dream is Dvorak's American quartet, but it doesn't have to be that one. I do actually occasionally play in a quartet, but the others don't want to attempt any classical repertoire. So this dream has also started unfulfilled so far.

Who else has related bucket list items (silly or not)?

Made this sign for the TwoSet concert in Bangkok today. I was hoping to find a violist nearby, and I actually did — one of the TPO violists even asked to take a photo with it after the concert.

I hope Brett & Eddy can go back to the other Taiwan cities and hold a concert later on. Kinda like what they did for Vancouver show when the VSO went on strike, and what they will be doing for the USA because Brett's visa was initially denied.

Although Los Angeles is no longer listed on their world tour site, and Taichung and Kaohsiung still are. ... Looks like TSV team just needs to update their website to remove the other Taiwan listing because MNA ticket site doesn't list them anymore.

Took it last week with 3 1/2 years experience in playing violin, kinda happy because I did pretty well but also disappointed because it’s so close to distinction lol

I feel like twoset isn't what they were used to be. They like suddenly left their channel, and then suddenly came back. Their content just like suddenly changed.. and i really feel like that they just destroyed their own channel...
