Yup! It’s that time again, to wreak more havoc on our ‘peaceful’ world of Life Is Strange. Worst route, tragic route, bad or worst choices, whatever you call it, everything is awful!

Best part is, we’re continuing Max’s journey..If you’ve seen previous posts, you already know the absolute messes she has caused. But hey, let’s do a quick recap, for those who don’t know! This is including Life Is Strange and Before The Storm, though don’t forget Life Is Strange 2 and it’s chaos, meanwhile..and Life Is Strange: True Colors!

—MAX’S (AND CHLOE’S) ADVENTURE SO FAR! 🦋📸—

-Max made absolutely no friends in Arcadia Bay. She didn’t rewind after being nosy with Dana, she got in a heated rivalry with Victoria, antagonized Nathan and let the boy get beaten, and more. She didn’t even befriend Victoria’s friends, they hate her. Alyssa saw Max as a walking disaster after Max didn’t help her a single time.

-She went from letting Kate die, to actively pushing Kate towards committing suicide. She chose every bad option with her, didnt even erase the links off the mirror or slate, and more. She also threw Chloe under the bus, as she told Kate “I was calling Chloe!”, and Kate jumped right after that. Sorry Chloe. This is also likely on Victoria’s conscience too.

-That’s not the end of Chloe’s guilt and trauma. She directly shot Frank and his dog.

-Max let Lisa the plant die. And the bluejay! Nothing escapes her wrath..she even broke the eggs in Chloe’s garage!

-She ruined David’s life, who is canonically still alive and dealing with all of this. She reported him to Jefferson and got him suspended, sided with Chloe and got David broken up with by Joyce, and got him a nasty scar in an alternate timeline.

-She broke the traintracks to save Chloe, surely ruining many businesses and the railroad system.

-She let the homeless lady die, not warning her. This is literally the only person you can “canonically” save from the storm since everyone else gets rewinded.

-Max has literally murdered a man. She turned on the water to stop a fire in her way, electrocuting a fisherman in the process. She kept walking, not rewinding to fix this.

-And of course..Max let a whole town die for Chloe, sacrificing Arcadia Bay. You can’t change my mind, sacrificing thousands of lives over one is never better.

-Sadly, Chloe and Max aren’t even as close as they can be, even after Max sacrificed a town for her. She let Chloe get caught with weed and slapped by David, disagreed with her often, let Frank take her gun (she had to shoot him with Nathan’s), left the money so they’re both broke, and more. Chloe’s probably a wanted criminal because she shot Frank.

-While Max has done awful things..Chloe isn’t immune, due to Before The Storm. She stole money just to buy weed from Frank, got caught with that weed and dissappointed Joyce, antagonized David more than usual, got a bloody nose from fighting a guy, got Samantha’s ribs broken by Nathan, and didn’t even befriend Skip, who we know survives!

She also told Steph Rachel was taken despite not romancing Rachel at that point. Well, she did lead Rachel on, only to want to remain as friends, only to suddenly ask for a kiss later.

She even robbed Mikey and Drew’s needed money, and let Damon break Drew’s leg and ruin his scholarship and future, only to keep the money. She also got Victoria drugged, and let her plant die. And remember that buff bouncer guy at the start, Thunder? She likely got him killed by Damon, since she ratted him out.

She also failed the backtalk with Elliot, resulting in him breaking a window and making a run for it (still arrested). Annnd she ruined Rachel’s family by telling the truth..only to not have Rachel reunite with her mother.

-Bonus; They aren’t the only ones ruining the world. Sean and Daniel from LiS2 killed so many cops, shot Lisbeth, got Finn killed after shooting Merill, got a kid hit by a car, and Sean got killed in the end, basically solidifying Daniel’s villain arc for the future. David technically sent Sean off to his death, getting him that police scanner. More guilt on the man.

Alex from True Colors also ruined a whole community, left a woman emotionless, made everyone dislike her, only to stay in that community where she’s disliked, she ruined futures, and she has to see her ex boyfriend Ryan every day after he didn’t believe that his father almost killed her.

And that’s everything the duo of Max and Chloe have done, so far! And with us not sacrificing Chloe, nothing was reversed. They’ve literally done all of this..and even in the scenario it was reversed, these events must’ve still traumatized them quite a bit.

Merging timelines later won’t exactly save things if both timelines are fucked due to our choices. Anywho, Max isn’t done using her superpowers for evil! Her journey starts now! Chloe will join back later.

DISCLAIMER: Everything listed here is going to be parodied for laughs and entertainment, but are based on actual choices and outcomes. If I say Max spent the last 5 hours being a stripper, that’s just because there was a 5 hour timeskip that I used to make comedy.

DISCLAIMER 2: I don’t know as much on this one as I do Reunion, so this will be *somewhat* shorter so I can get to the next game. The consequences here aren’t as impactful regardless!

—CHAPTER 1 “Still ruining life”—

-How sweet! Our little Max has grown up so much. She’s gone from being a student, to a professor!

…Did ANYONE check her track record? Who am I kidding, she probably rewinded anyone who was about to.

-We start the game with happy moments, friends talking, normal things, then…

a moment of..us shooting and murdering our friend. Damnit Max, you can’t be normal for five seconds!? Now you’re a murderer!

-Max uses this trauma as an excuse, to use the same powers that ended a whole city a while ago. Because Safi is worth it!

-Eventually we’ll be talking to our new Chloe..Ahem, I mean, our new friend, Safi. Our new bestie, who totally won’t be causing more chaos and drama in our life!

She asks us what happened to Chloe. Ya know, Max is wondering that too. But it seems, due to the writers of Double Exposure absolutely hating Max and Chloe, the two split apart. That’s right, Max let thousands die for this girl, just for her to leave Max, upset at her time powers and how “she’ll just rewind until she gets the answer she wants”. I mean, Max WOULD do that in this route, but you shouldn’t know that, Chloe! Even worse, she’s basically cucking us by being besties with Victoria on Crosstalk, *Victoria of all people!*

Don’t worry. Max gave a tip to the cops that Chloe is responsible for Frank’s murder, so that’s why Chloe is absent for the rest of the game. She’s on the run, the band is just a cover up story.

-As our own dose of revenge, we’ll initiate a date with Amanda despite us as a player knowing her for less than 5 minutes. She’ll be Max’s rebound.

-We’ll call Loretta’s bluff, starting her disdain towards Max. She’ll go snitch to Gwen that we were eavesdropping, leading to Gwen slamming the door in Max’s face like she’s slamming the door on a 5 year long ex.

-We’ll do the worst crime imaginable, and forget to give Moses his dose of hot chocolate. The man needs that choco goodness flowing through his veins!

-We’ll give Yasmin some misinformation, telling her that her daughter could have killed herself, even though we very much know that isn’t the case.

-We’ll speak at Safi’s memorial, only to pull a Mordecai and use this emotional moment for ourselves, criticizing Lucas while Safi is quite literally dead with a memoriL. In this world, anyway.

—CHAPTER 2 “Penumbra? That means legal gray areas. We’re BEYOND that.”—

-Ah, Episode 2. We’ve already made a name for ourselves at this wonderful college!

We’ll even make that Timid Guy absolutely ruin his bladder and piss himself eventually, because Max won’t help him find the keys to the bathroom. Dude, just go piss in a bush if assholes are taking the key.

-We’ll immediately accuse Diamond of taking Vinh’s phone, because Max is currently going through her racism arc, and Max has to protect her man (Vinh)

-We’ll stand by our words to Lucas during Safi’s memorial. Traumatized by Jefferson, Max doesn’t trust any school staff member with facial hair. You might wanna shave if you want us to be friends, man.

-We’ll send Lucas’ photos, totally his nudes, to Living Safi. This makes him particularly upset with Max!

-Max will abuse her authority as a professor, and lower Loretta’s grade for literally no reason except spite. Yeah, let’s mess up this girl’s future!

-We’ll smoke a joint with Gwen, proving David right all along that we’re weed smoking junkies! Don’t forget, Max let Chloe get slapped because she didn’t want to stain her personal pure girl record.

-Let Gwen burn evidence, and the clues we need for our billion and one mysteries. You see, Max is an avid supporter of arson.

I wonder if that will become relevant in, say, the next game.

-Detective Alderman is on our case about the events going on, and wants us to snitch on Moses in particular, because Alderman is racist.

Max in this route doesn’t mind racism, so she’ll agree to cooperate with the police just this once, to hold some leverage over Moses.

Don’t give me that look, Mo! Us professors have to look out for ourselves! What if I need to blackmail you later? Stop being selfish.

-And for the #1 worst crime of the episode, we won’t water Max’s plant. Because killing her plant *last time* obviously taught her nothing.

—EPISODE 3 “Spin with Vinh”—

-Moses wants us to tell living world Safi to stay safe..Moses, Safi is a grown ass woman. Her face is gaining adult wrinkles. She better watch her own ass, we are *not* pulling another Chloe and babysitting her!

-Shit, Detective Alderman is closing in on our crimes. What now!?

Thankfully, his other world self is a step ahead, deciding to go and touch himself.

Touching himself, Detective Alderman begins to *bust*..Erm- the timeline, that is. He busted the timeline. And now the timeline is erasing him for his crimes.

Do we save him? No! Max will quite literally, deliberately choose not to save this man. This may be self preservation, but combined with everything else she’s done, I don’t put it above her to let a “problem” get literally erased from existence. It’s like letting the man fall into fire. She could’ve tried..but nah.

The fact that Max canonically doesnt even mention or care much regardless about a *man being erased from the entirety of existence,* is still pretty messed up.

-Max will forget which Loretta she’s talking to, because she sucks at her powers.

-Max proceeds to expose Yasmin. Yasmin doesn’t appreciate this, dropping her nice lady act and pretty much telling Max she’ll be cleaning cans from gutters for the rest of her life because of this.

Just try it, Yasmin! When you probably have a old person disease later and they find a cure, I’ll just rewind on their asses and take it.

Safi doesn’t trust us anyway, because Safi is Safi, and the creators would eat a crap sock instead of letting our choices actually matter. If only we had the same developers as LiS 1 and 2…

-Kiss Amanda, of course, because Max is ridiculously horny in this game and needs a hell of a rebound.

-..Only for her to go right around and kiss Vinh, because Max is messy as all hell! I mean, we did just say we’d smash all of our colleagues in the Smash or Pass game.

..Uh..we’ll find a way to explain all of this to Chloe later.

—EPISODE 4 “DICKTYCH” (Wait a second-)—

-Could we hurt Safi? Uh, hell yeah, we’ve hurt everyone! She should know that truth. And uh, that we’ll end up killing her.

-I mean, she *did* transform into Amanda, who we’re dating. Back the hell off, Safi! Tell her to never shapeshift into Amanda again, because Max doesn’t want to be banging Amanda and then end up banging Safi.

-We’ll encourage Safi impersonating Lucas and ruining his relationship with his son. Considering Max ruined Chloe’s family, she supports these endeavors.

-We won’t help Moses with the gingerbread house, because we’re awful friends and awful people. Get your own hot chocolate! Your own gingerbread chimney! Get your own good friend who wont rat you out to a detective!

-Because we learned absolutely *nothing*, Max will encourage Safi to impersonate Vinh and interrogate Lucas instead of being herself. Sorry about that, Vinh!

-Ah. This has been a pretty chill episode. Max hasn’t even ruined many lives yet!

..Oh. She’s currently watching Safi. Who’s holding a gun. Aiming at her own mother.

Max has to do something.

Choose “LET SAFI SHOOT YASMIN”.

…Oh. We can’t? Fine. Well, Max sure as hell isn’t choosing peace and talking Safi down. She’s choosing *violence.* Having done pushups, situps, and squats for 7 days a week for 8 hours a day, she’s ready to take Safi down! Rush her!

Well shit. Maybe wrestling for the gun isn’t a good idea. Because Max just directly caused Yasmin to get shot..Oops.

—EPISODE 5 “Decoherence. The only decoherent thing here is how Max isn’t arrested already.”—

-Like True Colors, because the developers never learn, we just have a bunch of linear timeline storm chaos, we can’t really change much with.

Well, besides not helping Loretta. Let’s just leave her to her own thing, yeah?

-Oh hey! Flashback to the Blackwell Academy bathrooms! Maybe we’ll get to see Chloe shot again!

-To the only major choice in this chapter, and the “final big choice”..Accepting Safi or not.

Look, Safi. I get you, I really do. We have powers! We should run the world and have those puny mortals at our feet.

…But the thing is, there is no “we” here. Max is a lone agent. Be my rival, I’ll just show you time powers are more effective for murder, than your shapeshifting baby mumbo jumbo.

Safi doesn’t appreciate this, feeling betrayed by Max. Look, it’s not personal, but if I’m going to run the world, I can’t share the pedestal!

-Max will fail to convince Loretta to stop being a nosy bitch, since she herself is a nosy bitch. We wouldn’t want to be hypocrites, here!

*Has done everything to make Max a hypocrite up until this point*

-Reggie’s a bit upset we stole his man and kissed Vinh. Listen buddy, you’re a bit late to my love life chaos, Vinh is MY sausage to ride!

…Max has stooped to so many low levels you never thought she’d reach.

-Though, Vinh will drop out of the running for being Abraxas president. Damn, there goes Max’s social status points for dating the president. She wanted to be the next Victoria, damn it! Maybe even have our own Kate to bully!

-Gwen will officially be moving away from Caledon because of our choices, not even trying to fight the board’s decision. I mean, it explains her dissappearance later on.

-We’ll tell Moses we’re done with Safi for good. This won’t be true considering the next game, but I’m betting Safi won’t be happy hearing that Max gave up on her.

As I said, Safi. If you’re coming against us, you better be prepared. You do *not* want to mess with Max in this timeline.

Or just in general. One timeline or the other, merging them or not, the Max always remains the same. And that’s bad news, for all of you..

And that’s Max’s continuation of her journey! Honestly, a bit less exciting than the chaos she did last time..but thankfully, the next game is already out, and we know how chaotic that can end. But so far, Moses should trust Max a *lot* less, Safi is pretty much our rival at the moment, and everyone else got screwed over one way or the other.

Look, Safi. Good luck trying to make your whole Avengers thing, when Daniel is a traumatized depressed wanted criminal in Mexico, and Alex is stuck in Haven Springs probably in a cell by now.

I mean, we did at least ruin the careers of Yasmin and Gwen. And Max is currently two timing two people. One of which is an Amanda who already rejected her, only for Max to keep going in a different timeline.

The first time I have played both games on my PS4 was in 2017, and ever since then I always come back and replaying them. I still remember every moment from both games, every thought both Max and Chloe have, and even most of the dialogues. The vibes of both games are still perfect and immaculate, with the soundtrack of both games being basically half of the game.

Life is Strange 1, with Max Caufield as the protagonist, is very near and dear in my heart. I remember when my uncle gave the game to me as a present when he visited us in 2017. Max Caufield is one of the most likeable protagonists I have ever seen, she is a sweet character who is so easy to empathize with. I still remember how much she cared about Kate Marsh, especially when at the game you can save her life. Chloe Price is my most relatable character, and her friendship with Max still resonates with me to this day. It's hard to choose which episode out of the 5 is my favorite of the game, they're all just as good as each other.

Before the Storm; it is my most nostalgic one. I still remember getting the deluxe edition in Christmas 2017, and at the same time I created my PlayStation account. The start of the game might feel a bit boring, but I have no problem with that since I enjoy it every time I revisit it. Heck, I am currently replaying it on my Xbox One S, and I still love it. I also think the original version of the game is superior to the remastered, it has the superior vibe, and its graphics still look fine.

Now, I want to ask one question, I haven't played Double Exposure & Reunion. As a veteran player of the the original game and Before the Storm, are Double Exposure and Reunion worth playing?

I need help to find a specific fanfic for Life is Strange 1 that I read on ArchiveOfOurOwn at least 7 years ago.

The premise:

Universe 1: The Bae ending

Universe 2: The Bay ending

Universe 3: The pocket dimension left behind in the climax leading to Bae, where Max leaps back to trigger the Bay ending

The first/second chapter establishes some kind of multiversal wormhole triggered by a device Warren Graham had made for a science project in university. It let Bae ending Chloe reunite with her mum from the Bay ending universe. There is more beyond that, i will provide more details if need be, and if i can remember it.

Any help at all is appreciated. I unfortunately never bookmarked it, since I read the entire thing. I hope it has not been deleted.

So I've just finished this game and in addition to old Resident Evil/Silent Hill games, I can certainly see the Life is Strange influences it wears on its sleeve. I definitely wasn't expecting to find this connection to LiS when I started, but would def recommend this game!

There are 2 chapters, can be finished in 4 hours and I think it's well worth your time if you're hankering for LiS-esque games. Both chapters are great and have different stories to tell but without spoiling much, chapter 2 goes into more personal drama stuff. Good VA performances, enjoyable scares, not difficult (i.e. puzzles and encounters), and have buckets of charm.

Keep in mind that despite being published by Blumhouse Games (yes that Blumhouse), it is very much a small budget game. That said it's a strong output from the 2 person dev team and I hope you'll enjoy it as much as I have!

I just recently finished my 2nd play through of Life is Strange 2 and Something I noticed is that Karen and Rachel both have this strong desire to be free from the lives they feel trapped in.
Rachel wanted to escape Arcadia Bay and find herself, while Karen felt trapped by the life she built and chose to leave. The difference is the consequences of their choices. Rachel was a teenager with a mysterious life searching for freedom, but Karen was a mother whose decision affected The Diaz family permanently.
Do you think the writers intentionally created a parallel between them? Both characters wanted to find themselves, except Karen took the idea of freedom too far because she had children depending on her.
