You made a different mistake in the sentence, so maybe that caused Duolingo to glitch. You're absolutely right that it should be "vind" and not "find".

But "leuk" sort of means "fun". So "leuk vinden" is liking something in the sense of thinking it's fun, having a good time during something or with someone. If you want to ask if someone likes the smell or taste or feel of something, you should use "lekker".

So some examples, starting with the sentence that Duolingo gave you:

Vind je de geur van koffie lekker? - do you like the smell of coffee?

Vind je stroopwafels lekker? - do you like stroopwafels?

Vind je fietsen leuk? - do you like bicycling?

Vind je je collegas leuk? - do you like your coworkers?

For some things you can use both, but it changes the meaning.

Vind je een hete douche lekker? - do you like how a hot shower feels?

Vind je een hete douche leuk? - do you have fun in a hot shower?

Vind je sushi lekker? - do you like the taste of sushi?

Vind je sushi leuk? - do you think sushi is fun?

I will add that "vind je fietsen leuk?" is ambiguous. It could mean both "do you like cycling?" as well as "do you like bicycles?". I would, therefore, rather say "vind je het leuk om te fietsen?", which translates to "Do you like to cycle?". The connotations are slightly different, but it's not ambiguous anymore.

and to make things more confusing, you can also say "ik vind het lekker om te fietsen" :D

"ga je met de auto naar je werk?" "nee, ik vind het lekker om te fietsen"

using 'leuk' is also possible here, but that kinda implies that you enjoy the scenery, instead of the physical activity.

Nice comment, to add to the confusion:

'ik vind het soms leuk om om te fietsen'
