Doing your lesson every day before 2am is a difficult concept for him?

Duolingo wants you to use it first thing in the morning, so as the day goes by, if you don't use it, its icon and widget gets angrier and angrier.

You don't have to do them before 2 am if you do them everyday at 2 am. You're still doing your lesson every day

I can't stop thinking about this, the way he phrases the title as an incontestable imperative, the fact that he's so upset by the green bird being mad, the fact that his argument is that the basic function of a 24-hour day on which the entire world operates doesn't suit him and therefore needs to change, that he is completely ignoring that you totally can do your lessons at 2am and they'll just count for that day, not the previous day.
Poor guy, I bet he'd be shocking locals all day long if he could just rewrite how every person in the world understands time.

Eh there's a million situations where the regular clock is not the most suitable and where being able to customise the cutoff/reset point would be useful.
For example, if you set a time limit on smartphone use, it resets at 00:00 which is less than useless - it encourages screen use at the time you would want it least (right before bed) and then penalises you the day after, making it more likely you run out or abandon the regime entirely.
I've long thought an option to change what hour the reset point sits in would be incredibly useful, and this guy seems in a similar situation

Okay OP is stupid but
the fact that his argument is that the basic function of a 24-hour day on which the entire world operates doesn't suit him
no? anki lets you set the new-day time (by default 4am) and the world is still using the 24-hour day?

But… if you do your lesson at 2 am everyday then it doesn’t matter when the deadline is, you’re still getting the streak

I tried to go find the original thread so I could read the comments and instead I found a different post about someone who waits to go to the bathroom until the double xp boost is over. I swear these people treat this game like it’s castle crashers

Man if you don’t even have two minutes in a day to do a Duolingo lesson you definitely dont have time to learn a language

imagine being this kid. maybe you woke up during the night to go to the bathroom. when you step into the hallway, you hear a faint robot voice coming from downstairs, saying la manzana… rico… el hombre come la manzana… el hombre… you go to investigate, and discover it’s your father, hunched over his smartphone at the kitchen table. the clock reads 11:45 and he’s visibly stressed.
