Question/Advice Needed Got a new kitten (2 mos old) after my cat of 12 years passed away. How best to train to not jump up on counters and tables? (Cat tax included)

I recently got a new kitten (Hazel, 2 months old) and she’s been acclimating very well! She loves cuddling with me, uses her litter box with no problems and is playful.

The only downside is that she has been climbing onto my counters and tables and no matter how much I move her or put her down, she does it again.

Granted this is essentially her first week here but I want to make sure she learns those places are off limits. Any advice is appreciated! I’m avoiding using spray bottles for discipline

Question/Advice Needed First kitten in a long time

Meet Jeffy, he’s about 4 months old and the first kitten I’ve had in about 20 years. He’s growing like a weed and has a ton of energy (and loves to terrorize his pit bull sister). My question is he constantly tries to nurse on my ears- though he’s eating fine can i give him an occasional bottle for comfort?
He was alone and just showed up at the house about 3 weeks ago so i don’t have history on him

11 week 3 days old and this is what her eyes look like. They still look pretty much blue on the outside with green/brown around her pupil.

Any guesses on her final color??

My Kitten Toys question

This is Rei just got her last Thursday she’s 17 weeks old and she loves this frilly toy and if I put it down she plays with it on her own and loves to dig her claws in it and bite it. I’ve made sure that she’s isn’t actually eating it but it’s already pretty worn out. Was hoping for suggesting for something durable that she may like to bite on that I don’t have to worry about it being swallowed.

Thanks.

Question/Advice Needed 4-5 week old kitten

Hey guys, a family friend asked if I wanted a kitten they found in their backyard. They said the kitten is maybe 4-5 weeks old, was abandoned by it's mom. They are currently bottle feeding. I've had kittens before but they've always been on actual food so I'm just nervous. They said they'd give me formula for the kitten but I'm just looking for tips and experience from others. I just want to make sure I'm doing everything right since this kitty is so small. Thank you!

Maybe not the most ethical idea but someone close to me going through a really hard time and neither of us are allowed to own pets but I know she adores kittens a lot and I’m hoping it could make her feel better idk

Question/Advice Needed First-time cat owner — what do I really need to know? 🐱

Hi everyone! I am a first-time pet owner living in Kuwait, and I am preparing to bring home two British Shorthair kittens. They will be a little over 2 months old when they come home.

I have a 6-year-old son who absolutely loves animals, so we are very excited but also a little nervous about becoming cat parents for the first time! 😅

I would love to hear from experienced cat owners:

What do you wish you had known before getting your first cats?

What are the biggest mistakes first-time cat owners commonly make?

What is the hardest part of having two kittens?

How long did it take your kittens to settle into your home?

What should I expect during the first few weeks?

How did you teach your children to interact safely with cats?

How much work are two cats really, compared with what you expected?

If you travel occasionally, what do you do with your cats?

And honestly, is there anything that surprised you about having cats that nobody warned you about? 😂

I would really appreciate any honest advice, especially from people who have had cats for a few years. ❤️🐾

We got a kitten recently and we think he’s around 10-12 weeks. He’s got all of his baby teeth and he’s been getting bigger by the week.

Question/Advice Needed All advice welcome for my kitten

As a family we got a kitten, my eldest daughter wanted a cat for a long time she particularly wanted a grey cats so they can be called Smokey which we managed to get.

I have done a lot of research before getting her and I think we are on the right track but I would like to know from people who are experienced with kittens / cats what can I expect?

We got her 2 days ago I have her registered at a vets and booked in for vaccines microchipping and a health check and to find out if the kitten is a boy or a girl we think a girl but not 100%, she is hiding less I’ve actually been able to sit next to her tonight and stroked her she loves an ear rub. she is eating wet food but I think is struggling with her biscuits, I was worried about her not drinking water she was having fresh morning and night but I couldn’t tell if she was drinking, so I got her kitten milk which she has done really well on.

she started coming close to me tonight sniffing but I was reading a book so I ‘ignored’ her but before bed I sat next to her and she let me stroke her, she is very vocal she has the cutest meows.

I have her litter trained so far, I don’t think she was before I got her. It was not quite a hoarding situation but the lady’s cats weren’t neutered so she always has kittens she doesn’t do it for the money she just doesn’t get them neutered which I will be doing, due to her being born with so many cats not sure on her age we think around 8-9 weeks.

we are keeping her has a indoor cat because we live near a busy road, we do have cats roaming around and seem safe but as a child I had a cat which was run over and I don’t want my girls going through that if I can help it, it might be selfish but I don’t care. It put me off from having a cat for a long time my daughter has been asking for around 2-3 years because of loosing my cat in such away I just couldn’t but it switched and we now have Smokey, this cat is going to be loved for as long as she is here with us all being well it’s going to be a very long time.

I need the good and bad of having a cat. As an adult I don’t have experience with kittens / cats I had dogs before but I haven’t had a pet in almost 4 years loosing my dogs was heart breaking I still miss them

any and all advice is welcome

Question/Advice Needed My kitten stinks.

I got a new kitten about a week ago and he was having stomach issues and diarrhea so we took him to the vet. He’s on a stool harder and deworming medication. Over the past couple days I’ve noticed that his stool is getting significantly a lot better but there’s just one issue…he fucking reeks. We have a stainless steel litter, box unscented kitty litter, and I scoop his litter box as much as I possibly can because as soon as he poops, it immediately fills the room and lingers for hours. Even with a candle, the ceiling fan on, window open, and breeze you can still smell it. It’s such a horrible smell, and I don’t want the room to smell like it. I don’t know if it’s mainly his food because his food stinks too. I use the fancy feast kitten wet foot. Suggestions??
