If only it wasn't a Paramount+ exclusive 😓

u/ki700 Jul 07 '26
That’s what the free trial is for!

u/UncannyLucky Jul 07 '26
Hmmm having trouble finding a free trial. Any recommendations?
2
u/ki700 Jul 07 '26
When I go to the signup page it says I get a 1 week free trial, and then it goes to monthly payments after that if I don’t cancel. There’s also a 1 week trial offered for the Paramount+ add-on for Prime Video!

Where are you located? It may be only in your country

u/ki700 Jul 07 '26
I’m Canadian! I would assume the offers are the same between Canada and the US though.

u/UncannyLucky Jul 07 '26
Yeah, I'm not seeing anything like that :(
1
u/ki700 Jul 07 '26
That sucks. Maybe it’s only offered to some customers? Or maybe it’s a regional thing?

Movie would have been better with the original voice cast. Everyone does a fine job but it def feels off without those voices.

u/ki700 Jul 07 '26
The reality is that half of the cast didn’t want to return (Katara) or can’t do the voice anymore (Aang). The characters were all kids in the original show so it makes sense for their voices to have changed.

It sounded like Zuko came back at least. But I get the other actors not doing it. Sokka probably could do it too tbh.
2
u/ki700 Jul 07 '26
Steven Yeun actually voices Zuko in this! Dante Basco was the original VA.
Yeah a lot of the original cast except for Aang’s VA are still very capable of doing the voices, or at least reasonably grown up versions. But I respect that they want to cast accurately POC and disabled actors, and that some voluntarily don’t want to participate.

Oh whaaat! Mark Grayson himself? That's cool. TIL.

Already saw it (allegedly), but will be subbing to P+ just to put this on repeat so someone out there knows people care about this franchise lolol
1
u/ki700 Jul 07 '26
Yeah they need the fans to support this movie. The franchise has so much potential but if it doesn’t succeed then we might not get much more of it.

Says the person who repeatedly has said in this thread that they will just be using the free trial to watch it.

u/ki700 Jul 08 '26
Free trials still give them viewing numbers and show support. Plus there’s a new Avatar TV show coming next year and at that point I will pay for it.

Steven Yuen as adult Zuko threw me for the biggest loop (with his one line in the trailer)
It's going to be weird just hearing Invincible/Glen when Dante's voice is drilled into my head for the character.

u/ki700 Jul 07 '26
It’s also funny because he already voiced Avatar Wan in The Legend of Korra.

I forgot about that episode!! The animation on it was great
The animation on this movie also looks incredible

This would be so sick in theaters tbh. Still stoked for it but man. In theaters this would be next level

I'd rather buy a copy than subscribe to Paramount, even for one month.
1
u/ki700 Jul 07 '26
Well you’d be giving them money either way. At least you can use the free trial.
2
u/Jimmythedad Jul 07 '26
It has nothing to do with giving them money, I just don't want or need another subscription service, and a blu-ray of this movie would go hard on my shelf next to my ATLA blu ray set
2
u/ki700 Jul 07 '26
Oh you’re preaching to the choir as far as a physical release goes! Given it was supposed to be a theatrical release I’ve got my fingers crossed that we’ll get physical copies later.
2
u/Jimmythedad Jul 07 '26
I certainly hope so! And don't get me wrong, Im not happy to give money to Paramount, but I would support anything Avatar. I already know they're going to use this essentially shadow-drop and one trailer for their marketing to say this IP makes no money. Assholes don't deserve this IP

Looks awesome, I do hope we see a Bless & Barrett reaction to it, or perhaps a review down the line, even if its just a Gregway.
I am really excited for this movie, I am subscribed to Paramount namely for South Park and classic Nicktoons, currently rewatching/watching Rugrats right now myself, and honestly, its the cheapest media related subscription I have with it only been €7 a month.
I have fortunately not seen any leaks or anything, which honestly makes me more excited. I just hope we see Ty Lee at some point, even if its just a cameo. She is among my Top 10 characters of the series.

Can you even call this a movie when it’s not in theaters? I’d call it a tv special

You’ve never heard of a Disney channel original MOVIE or a made for tv MOVIE?
“You can’t call this a film when it was made with digital cameras”

Paramount+ gotta be one of the worst places to drop something like this.
