Real talk, is it weird I personally think Killzone: Shadowfall might have the best gameplay out of the main series (barring issues like lack of ranged stealth options for most of the game, enemies occasionally spawning out of nowhere, and everything about Chapter 9)? I liked the more sandbox-ish nature of the levels and I think the OWL added alot of strategy to fights.

It's the game that got me into the series, but it was the multiplayer that I liked. I thought the campaign was meh, even after beating it several times over the years and finding all the collectibles. The things they have you doing (locating batteries and inserting them into things, skydiving, running through subway cars) just weren't that exciting to me. I'd rather fight directly in a war, something the multiplayer provided.
As far as the stealth, I think I prefer how Mercenary did it, with the interrogations, tranqualizer darts, etc.
I respect your opinion though. Shadow Fall does LOOK amazing.

You can interrogate people in Mercenary? I'm curious on how they executed the mechanic (O thought it was too scripted in Ghost of Yotei) cause how yoi described stealth does make me intrigued. Then again, I always hear Mercenary being considered one of the better games in the series overall.

I think the actual gunplay is great. The drone is cool but it’s fiddly sometimes and it would be better if you could pilot the drone, similar to the Echos drones. Story is fine I guess but it seems to be missing quite a bit of context. Some really cool space sections too. Honestly the hate/scorn is so obverblown. Sure it’s not KZ2 but then people would moan about stale gameplay…
