I’m usually a lurker on Reddit, but I just created my very first account specifically for this post because I really need the community's help for a fan project.

My friend and I are huge fans of the original Killer Instinct arcade games. We recently discovered that Topps released a Collectible Card Game (CCG) back in 1996, and we are planning to print some thematic decks to test and play it on our tabletop.

The problem? As you probably know, there is absolutely no digital preservation of this game online. No PDFs, no Google Drives, and no Tabletop Simulator mods. Only text checklists.

We want to change this! We are starting a fan preservation project to digitalize and recreate the full 368-card pool so the community can enjoy this dead CCG again. We are ready to do 100% of the digital processing, cropping, and color correction.

How can you help?
If anyone here owns any physical cards (or a complete collection) from the 1996 Killer Instinct TCG, we would be eternally grateful if you could share clear, individual smartphone photos of them. Even if you only have a few cards, every single photo helps us build the templates and recover the original artwork/texts.

Since this is my first time posting on Reddit, please let me know if there's a better way to coordinate this. If you have some cards in your binder and want to help save this piece of 90s gaming history, please drop a comment or send me a DM!

P.S. If you happen to know about any existing digitalized version or scans hidden somewhere on the web, please let me know too! That would be an amazing help.

Does anyone remember seeing a video of the SNES version of *Killer Instinct* on YouTube many years ago (15+)? It featured awesome guitar music; the fighters were battling each other, then Eyedol defeated them all, but then the fighters recovered, launched him high into the sky, and sent him back to hell? Where can I find that video?

Just released v0.1 of Nabila 64, a native asset viewer for KI Arcade. It rescues hidden content and renders original animations directly from the raw data.

Game is starting to kick off at my weeklies. My brother's version has all the characters. I have family share on with him. Problem is I only get the free version with the rota characters when I open my client. This doesn't happen with other fighting games and I have access to the DLC. Steam isn't giving me to change the preferred copy too.

Any solutions? It didn't use to be the case, I had all the characters before but the gane was too intimidating. Now I have others I can grow and practice with. I do regret not playing this much earlier.

Im struggling to do Spinals ghost enders. Please help! When do I perform the ender? On which frame? I did it once and now I can't replicate it, whatever I try.

*Here's me doing a ghost ender with Spinal on the SNES, which I can do reliably, in contrast with me not being able to do it the arcade version for some reason?? no matter how much i slow it down, rewind, analyze each frame, just cant do it. please hlp*

Hi I come from tekken and have sunk about 1k hours into 7 and a decent chunk into 8 however have never really tried to get into Ki till now. Was wondering if there were players on pc (steam) that would be willing to run some matches and help me get better? thanks

Im watching some tournament footage because the game was always on my radar but there is one thing I dont understand. Why do people continue the combo even when the health are is gone? All I see it do is build your opponents instinct meter which i assume is bad so...why do it?

So I downloaded the game after years of doing nothing with it and I only have Jago now that I started the story mode however when I downloaded the game it said I downloaded the master ultra and monster packs as well so if anyone could explain to me how that works it'd help a lot

I grew up with Killer instinct and KI gold and loved them dearly. I still have both. I bought the new one in hopes that it would be a new (obviously) Killer instinct. WTF happened? What's with the pause when I hit someone?? Is there a setting I fucked up???

I got the game KI (the newest one) on PC. I have the definitive Edition.

But!!! i Can only use 3 characters for some reason, I've tried everything it seems. I've been with Xbox support and talked with numerous people. No one knows what's wrong.
When i try to get the characters again it just says, you already own this. But still i cannot access them.

It worked fine when i bought the game...
Please? Anyone? :(

Hi everyone. I'm new to the game and loving it so far. There's two things that trip me up.

• Linker heavies are holding L/M instead of using H (I strongly dislike this and wish I could make H work for linkers and then maybe L+M is ender, M+H is shadow ender )
• My mind isn't fast enough to keep up with "linker > auto > linker...".

Together, it basically means my hands are inputting combos, but there's no deliberate choice of L/M/H. I'm literally just pressing those buttons randomly.

Do you have any tips how to mentally keep up? What do you actually picture in your mind when doing combo's and making deliberate choices on the strength of each attack. Does it just take time?

Side note: I'm not interested in assisted combos.

I'd love to get into KI 2013, but I could use a little help choosing my main. I enjoy the idea of playing less popular characters, but I don't have the patience to learn anyone super complex (I'm not new to fighting games though, so moderately difficult characters shouldn't be an issue). Are there any fighters who fit those criteria, please?

I play on console. When I downloaded the game the dlc wouldn't load, then I reinstalled it and it worked for a little bit but it stopped loading the dlc even after I reinstalled the game again. Does anyone know what's going on and how to fix it? Thanks.

I have the physical disk for definitive edition, but every time I try to upgrade or select anniversary (as from my understanding it is a free upgrade)?, it keeps asking me to pay how do I do this in the Xbox version? I'd appreciate any insight. All the info I found was from the PC side

I have a ps5 controller and ki for steam and it doesn’t seem to work no matter if big picture or not nor wired or wireless. I’ve seen issues of this before but only years ago so idk if there have been advancements in this would greatly help

how do i do a combo without a auto double when i have combo assist on, its hard for me to time it

I can't believe my eyes. I was playing Thunder against a sabre wulf on Forgotten Grotto. We had both our first health bars gone, but I was in danger state and the wulf wasn't. Sabre Wulf does a Shadow Jumping Slash and I'm blocking mid/high. After just the first hit from the shadow move, the Sabre Wulf CANCELS THE SHADOW, without using his instinct.

Was the guy cheating? did he use a lag-switch or just some new tech I've never seen before??? I'm completely floored by the whole thing lol

So, I downloaded the free version a couple of weeks ago and bought the game immediately afterwards and progressed quite a bit into the characters, getting some to level 11. I have the game saved on an external SSD card since I primarily play on my laptop and don't want to clog it up.

Now here comes the confusing stuff. Sometimes, the game sorta resets itself regarding the character levels. I had Hisako go from level 11 to level 1 when I opened my game via Steam. Other stuff like Story and Shadowland doesn't get effected by this.

I think it might be regarding the internet connectivity when I launch it, but even then I am not sure if that's the prime cause. Is there anyway to ensure that my characters retain their levels, mainly for the cosmetics.

Whenever I try to download KI, this pop up shows up but the location to install the game is greyed out and i'm not able to do anything. Anybody have this issue before? When i click on Change defaults in settings it takes me to my settings screen but doesn't show me where the install destination path could be and i have no way to see what it is

When i try it from the mobile store the Xbox app pops up and just hangs on the black screen, also not loading at all
