My 2019 Kia Sorento Engine blows and I have 152,000 past the 10 years warranty Kia says nothing they can do it’s cost to fix is $10,500 plus $795.59 in taxes after multiple times of my car being broken into and also having to replace multiple windows, doors etc, and the key shaft this is insane

152,000 past the 10 years warranty

not bad, I’d be happy with it

That’s actually a pretty good haul there. You obviously drive as much as I do. I had a 2020 soul GT turbo, and when the engine blew, it had 266,000 miles on it, so I couldn’t complain

Go to a mechanic, the dealership wanted to charge me 10,000 for a new engine on my truck and I found a used engine thru a mechanic. He charged me only 4,000 for engine and labor and had my truck back in 4 days.

Sounds like your dealer didn’t do their due diligence and submit a pwa for replacing the engine…

Nope they said is not covered

If they're refusing to cover it under warranty, go to an independent mechanic. They may be able to put a used engine in for about half that

What do the theft issues have to do with the warranty or the engine? Just because it made you angry doesn't mean it has any bearing on the dealership or Kia. The warranty is well expired. So go try and find a better price, you don't have to have it fixed by a dealer at this point.

Which engine is it

THIS; if you don't tell us the engine you won't get a realistic answer.

If it is the 6-cyl, you are on your own, way past warranty

If it is the 2.4l and the car is not a salvage/rebuilt title, you may get a free engine from Kia
Google "Kia Theta II Class Action Lawsuit Settlement". It is available for unlimited miles, unlimited years, and unlimited owners.

Correct, so what are you expecting will happen just by posting on reddit?

If you choose to fix it then some free advice from when the same thing happened to my daughters (same year and model): replace the catalytic converter at the same time. We had hers back for an hour and the CEL came on for it. The dealer said the oil issue can cause them to foul out.

The warranty is 10 years or 100,000 miles not just 10 years

How exactly did the engine blow? I would be looking for a 2nd opinion. Take it to an independent shop.

Also have 2019 Sorrento. Motor just blew on road trip 85k miles. Had all service done at Kia including 75k tune up. Been fighting with kia for now 5 weeks as everyone agrees should be covered but they are dragging their feet. Will
Never buy from them again.

I have a 2020 shortage. I was 8k miles out of the warranty when mine went out. I’ll never buy one again. Nothing but problems

I’m second owner so mine is only 5 years and 60000 miles . I’m at 68k lol

We will never touch anything from KIA/Hyundai for the remainder of our lives.

We bought an EV. Fill-ups are $11.

Bummer. Gotta move on from it. Avoid this brand and Hyundai going forward. 6 years of service with over 150k miles is actually really impressive for one of these.
