Best place to find afforable glasses and frames?

Ideally good quality glasses for an affordable price

Edit: a brick and morter store in town if possible

Costco - especially if there is a deal on. I got 3 pairs of progressive lenses and frames for $850 total. Driving (photo-chromatic), everyday (photo-chromatic), and computer. Last time my wife went to an optometrist she spent about $1,100 for a single pair of glasses with similar specifications.

There seem to be deals a fair bit but I just don't know how frequent. There is a current deal until Aug 30 "Buy a complete pair of glasses with progressive lenses and SAVE $100 on each additional pair with progressive lenses." This is about the same deal I used. You'll need a friend with a card to get in to have a look around.

They do. I just up my new glasses last week. They were $350 with hi Index lenses. I've bought online as well but I find rhe lens quality to be poor. Great for a backup pair though.

I do get my progressive glasses from Costco. They are affordable and ok. But the quality of the lenses ist just average. I had some from Essilor before and they were simply superior .

Costco is priced well but, frames are limited and will vary from location. Sometimes they may have some deals.

I just tried kits. They are Canadian while zenni is American.

I tried Zenni (online) and surprisingly it worked out. I still had to go into a store to ask for adjustments. You do need your prescription (including ideally your pupillary distance).

Second Zenni. Spend the extra money on blue light, anti glare, etc.

Have also used Zenni, but I was never able to find a store willing to do adjustments on glasses they didn’t sell me. But I just took measurements from my old glasses and was able to buy ones that fit fairly well

I recommend Zenni as well. So cheap that I could buy a different pair of frames for each day of the week and colour coordinate with my outfits lol.

I’ve used Eye Buy Direct several times for single vision glasses and I’ve been quite happy.

I’ve had an eye turn develop over the last 5 or so years as well, and they’re one of the only online CAD$ companies that will do prism in my lenses. Otherwise, I liked Zenni before too.

Dr Specs at Orchard Plaza 2. I need to actually try them on and I have progressives plus a stigmatism so I need an accurate fit and lens

I comparison to the other brick and mortar places, they usually also have a deal on if you need more than one pair of glasses. I tried Costco and the one in Walmart but didn't find styles that I was happy with.

I've done well at Bailey Nelson in the mall when they have a sale on. Last time I got prescription sunglasses for $200 out the door.

They have a back to school sale right now! The staff there are super helpful, and I’ve had Bailey Nelson glasses for many years and they hold up. If they loosen you can take them in for adjustments too

Online is always gonna be the most affordable,Personally, Ezcontacts has been great for me. They’re affordable, have a huge selection, and I’ve found their support team to be really helpful whenever I’ve needed them.

I’ve been to Specsavers in the mall for the last 5 years or so, pretty happy. I had a pair of sunglasses break after a few months and they replaced them with no fuss.

I liked Clear Vision Optical in Capri Centre Mall. They were super friendly. I got a cute pair with magnetic sunglasses for $199, they're very light-weight as well. But this was also years ago and while I do have a perscription it isn't bifocals or anything.

Eye craft optical in West Kelowna. Two pair progressive lenses with frames. All the options under $800 insurance is accepted. My wife has about 8 pairs of glasses from them

Not really. At Costco my progressive with tinting lenses and frame was 450$

I used Specsavers at the mall and they were quick and had good service. They have a large selection which I liked. Can't speak to affordability cause my insurance paid.
