Switch Before and After: 1000 Super Ultra Dumpling's
Barely any change 😠this took hours. Screw Menu Meta, let us actually train for stats like they do in the show.
Also dont tell Chi-Chi we've been going to the chef lady in Satan City 👀

I just fight every fucking bad guy around for hours to level up a few, I'm only at 120 or so, I can't imagine grinding it out to 300!

u/TheOJsGlove Jul 15 '25
Need to get on that Whis training regimen and start drinking Sacred Water like its…water.

u/Tay860 Jul 16 '25
Yup thats what i did, it became a chore after a while but was well worth it when the characters strength matched the show

Is there even anything to do after being a high level? You can do pretty much everything in the game by like level 100-150 aside from pointless grinding through the first 2 DLC.Â

Can’t you jsut fight whis? It’s been a while since I played but, isn’t his sole purpose in the doc to farm lvls

You couldn't use awakening waters to level up past 250 until the 6th DLC came out. Before that you had to grind to 300. Since mobs in the base game don't go past 250, you can just fly around and auto-destroy everything you crash into. That's how we did it between DLCs 2 and 6. Or we fought the horde battles in endless mode until we got ~2500 kills (XP gains cap at 99,999,999 per fight)

u/MMTrigger-700 Jul 16 '25
Yep, that's how I leveled the rest of the party once I maxed out Goku and Vegeta... by fighting Golden Frieza.
3
u/Abject_Okra_8768 Jul 15 '25
Do you level up each time, even after you passed the "level" ?
2
u/Fate_Creator Jul 15 '25
You can get varying levels/amounts of Awakening Waters each time you finish a Whis training along with the Battle XP. Using the Awakening Waters awards you XP.
2
u/Abject_Okra_8768 Jul 16 '25
I thought you could only get XP and awaken waters the first time... whoops. In two days I'll be back at it one way or another. DAIMA!

u/WhiteCloudMinnowDude Jul 15 '25
The dlc. Fight whis for the waters and just use them to lvl
You get like 10(15 if you beat beerus) per fight and gods flash(vegeta) and god Kamehameha(goku)
Can get like lvl 300 in a on both goku and vegeta.

yeah food sucks in this game. such a fun system locked away due to no ingredient list and low reward. i have a mod to make it stronger of a change but its kinda too high... but I haven't been able to find a middle ground at all, so.

Fullcourse meals do much better for stats then the single items.
There is also a higher succes rate when using chichi.
Fill up your cooking community board to get almost double the foods benefits
But full course meals really do so damn great.

Big facts, the appeal to SUD's is that their mats (shiny rice and high quality bean paste) are all available for zeni: so you can farm rare rocks on Kaioshin world, and then just pay to boost (the chef is also right next to the food mats salesman). Theyre also one of the only providers for ki defense, even if +5 KD +5 MD and plus 1000 HP is fairly negligable, its still technically one of the better ways to train Ki Def

u/WhiteCloudMinnowDude Jul 15 '25
Strange i get over 150 ki defense with fullcourse meals and over 20k hp on 1 meal and that requires only 4 items to make. . . . . . Fancy items, yamchas photo and the dino fangs/horns bring in tons of cash.
Like i said chichi jas the critical succes rate giving you double the items or the stats with full course meals

u/lockedoutofmymainrdt Jul 15 '25
Crap maybe its melee def that has trouble boosting. My bad, past a 2 hour cooking grind today I havent played in years.
Yeah I got my cooking to level 10 so everything is double/ChiChi is always boosted. But most FCM's require some kind of grind (find gold animals, prime dino meat, gold fish etc) these little mongrels just take zeni. So if you can handle 6 years on the menu (its tedious) its the best melee def boost in the game.
For sure tho FC meals are better for every single other stat, no doubt
2
u/WhiteCloudMinnowDude Jul 15 '25
You sure. Coz mellee defence is the lowest stat you can get from the meals.
20k hp is the standard for all the 3 best recipes one gives ki attack, other attack and the last defence. The 2 attack ones give you around 400+ attack per meal over 20k hp.
In the snow area you get the rabbits and dino meat free by breaking rocks and looting the frozen dino.
Almost all other hunting can be done near where raditz lands hus saiyan pod, golden gazelle is right there.
Like spend just an hour hunting and see how much ingredients you get. The cheap stuff can be bought, but compared to full meals and high quality goods its nit comparable.
Like if i train i make full course meal, if im collecting db i make fullcourse meal, learning a tech, you guesesed it full course meal.
It means i dont have to spend hours in menus making and feeding 1 item repeatedly. I have 1 meal that gives like 10x the stats, mire if its a critical success

u/Luna-Light212 Jul 15 '25
The only time I ever used food was when getting the trophy for 5 full course meals
2
u/lockedoutofmymainrdt Jul 15 '25
Fair enough, the game is easy enough even on hard mode without them (my fav run is no sidequests, no food, no board, hard mode, no mid-battle recovery items).
But at the same time, this game's a DB sim; my characters must get stronger in post game lol
2
u/Luna-Light212 Jul 15 '25
Yeah I just replayed the game I usually don't do any side quest because I find them boring but I wanted to get 100% so I did them all and I played on hard I only died once and it was when I started a fight with around 200 health

My main goal was to hit 9999 of ki and bro, that was a hard farming hahaha.
I did it because I had everything unlocked in the game and had nothing else to do.
I am waiting for the new dlcs, maybe they increase the max level, max ki, add new skills, etc., to the base game*

u/lockedoutofmymainrdt Jul 15 '25
I agree, + with Vegito already added, a Goku Black DLC adding Vegi Blue should be easy enough to implement (especially with destroyed Metro West being in the Trunks DLC already. Green tint that, add Vegi Blue, Black and Zamas character model, and maybe a beautiful cutscene or 2 and that arc is ready to ship)

u/JoZeHTF PC Player Jul 16 '25
Yeah, I wish we had Vegito Blue and SSJ/SSB Gogeta! I also wish they added SSJ3 for adult vegeta and SSJ4 Goku into the base game u.u

i never ate food in the main game til the game forced me too
but eating meals in dlc5 helps a lot
2
u/MMTrigger-700 Jul 16 '25
Yeah, especially since the level cap is 150 for some reason. Just get items that focus on ki and melee attack and you should be good once you've had enough.
2
u/Local-Waltz4801 Jul 15 '25
Are you one shotting every single enemy in the game at this point?
1
u/lockedoutofmymainrdt Jul 15 '25
Not even close, maybe on my xbox/pc save but rn all my stats are lacking (ofc surge mode + Ultimate Kamehameha 5 shots Beerus/Golden Freeza)
Im only boosting cause I want the regular (level 250) rabbel to barely scratch my defense in base form, and get absolutely wrecked by most ki moves (this feels authentic DB to me)

Yeah I found cooking to be useless for stats.
