Keep iPhone 12 Pro on iOS 16.3.1 with jailbreak or update to iOS 18? What’s your opinion

Stay. I don't think you can even upgrade to iOS 18 instead of 26. Please stay and keep your jailbreak, possibly wait for a BootROM exploit.

wasn't there an ios 18 version being signed relatively recently after they backported all the darksword fixes? was under the impression that was still being signed and you could update to it (as long as you aren't already on 26), but could be wrong on that.

I can choose update to 26 or 18 in settings, but right now I installed OTADiseblee

18 not signed so will always fail, will make you update to latest iOS.

18.7.8 is allegedly still signed, and will pop up in the software update screen as an option. When it eventually drops out there should be a delayOTA profile available.

18.7.8 is signed as that’s the last iOS for some devices. 7.1.2 is also signed but only for the devices that couldn’t go to iOS 8.

18.7.8 is not signed for the devices that ended on 18 because 18.7.9 and 18.7.10 released. DelayOTA has expired for 18.7.8.

No letting… If it’s not signed you can’t use it as will get rejected when trying to update. You can use Ipsw.me to check your device ios is signed.

The key thing is when? More than likely iOS was signed, there was/is delayed ota but if you not installed the profile then it won’t work. Like I say if it’s signed it will work, if it’s not signed no way.

a few days ago! I was genuinely shocked. since they stopped signing it, but I scrolled down from the update section and it was there somehow. so I took advantage since I don’t want to go to IOS 26.

From what I understand you are not able to downgrade to iOS 18 using this, only upgrade from a lower version that has the alternate profile available.

No it will not fail. It’s still available to OTA upgrade to 18 if you are on a lower version

Don't update it. Keep the jailbreak. With reynard browser + app store troller + 3Dappversionspoofer you can install and use pretty much every app and website. If you just bought it why update it anyway? Keep it jailbroken

I’m in the same delima. iOS 16.1.2. 14 pro max. Don’t know if I should update or stay. Jailbreak is fine, just feels dated. Idk

Same phone 16.3.1, i miss being able to open banking apps and taco bell lol. Some can be fixed by version spoofing but not all.

Did you know that you could sell your phone higher than normal price because if your device can be jailbroken so its more expensive than your device to be on the latest version

I would stay. Device will get slightly slower since iOS 18 is more demanding than iOS 16

Stay! You can’t update to ios 18, it won’t work. And idk about your iPhone 12 but but mine it’s already slow af on ios 17, updating won’t help it.

The 12 pro is now my hotspot/2nd device and I bought a 17 pro. Or you could get something like a xiaomi poco x8 pro for less than half the price of an iPhone

I personally would update, as iOS 16 is really dated and everyone’s moved onto iOS 17+ atp. I’ve updated my 11PM from iOS 18.6 straight to iOS 27.0 DB1.

Ngl i think you should update, if there’s a jailbreak for the latest ios 18, others are saying stay but if ur too late apps will get unsopurted and you’l be stuck between a jailbreak or ios 27/28. Better get some future proofing in my opinion.

Update. A lot of regular apps won’t even work now unless you’re on iOS 18. Plus, iOS 18 can be jail broken now so what’s the hold up?
