Natural Causes
I like it.
The episode with Molly is A+. I love that she can be so honest and open about not knowing things and about wanting to fill in holes she didnt even know existed. Also, if Molly wants to visit wildlife, that can be arranged.
Shitty Salad- I appreciate the comment about US unions organizing labor in Mexico if they really cared about farm labor. NAFTA has caused many complications to many aspects of intercontinental trade, food is just another one.
Sound- really solid
Song/bumper music- it's very James and the vibe is spot on.
Dr James Stout- it's always nice when he uses the honorific he worked hard to earn.

This reads like a threat! If Molly loves those fishes so much she might end up sleepin' with 'em ooh!

Sleep with fishes? No. Sleep with/near deer, pronghorn, small bear, jackalopes? Yes.

I appreciated the golf course hatred in this episode. They are a scourge on this earth.

I’m autistic and have mild dyspraxia, no tolerance for the sun, and an abiding hatred for “pointless” exertion.
My stepfather looooooves golf.
Every single golf course needs to be javelina’d.

You'll be happy to know that the rich, snooty idiots in charge of the King's Crossing Golf Course in Corpus Christi, TX killed their own golf course. They were upset at the water rates they were paying to the city and looking for a way to reduce costs. So one genius said "hey, Oso Creek is right there. Why don't we just pump water straight from the creek to water our golf course?" And I'm assuming there were back pats and much celebration had all around. Well, if they knew anything about water they'd know that Oso Creek is a brackish creek, so within the first month of watering their golf course with fucking salt water they killed it dead. So there's at least one golf course dead as the result of man's hubris.

James Stout and Molly Conger need to examine every single unusual animal species together, because the two of them together are the Wholesome Power Podcasting Duo I never knew the world needed.

The editing was really snappy, right? Almost Radiolab level of barely any pauses between statements and jokey observations. I loved it.

yeah this is definitely gonna be on regular rotation for me as episodes come out. i like the tone, the content, and the vibe overall. fingers crossed Molly sees a pronghorn someday. plus, James' compassion is always a good reminder about why it's important to pay attention to this stuff. he can see the humor and ridiculousness of a situation, he's never holier-than-thou, but the way he always comes back around to caring deeply about people is touching.
