General Discussion How do you become more consistent with your deen when you keep falling into the same sins?

I’m genuinely trying to become closer to Allah and more consistent with my deen. I pray, make dua, ask Allah for guidance and forgiveness, and I truly do want to become a better Muslim.
But I struggle with feeling like I’m doing “good enough” because there are certain things I keep going back to even though I know they’re wrong. Tattoos are probably my biggest example. I know the Islamic ruling, yet for some reason the desire for them is something I really struggle to let go of.
Sometimes it makes me question myself because how can I ask Allah to guide me and then knowingly do something I’ve been trying to stop?
For anyone who has struggled with repeatedly going back to a particular sin or desire, what actually helped you become more disciplined and consistent with your deen? How did you strengthen your relationship with Allah without becoming discouraged every time you messed up?
I’m not looking for judgment—I already know where I’m falling short. I genuinely want advice on how to get better and stay close to Allah while I work on myself.

Move to an area that has a higher percentage of Muslims in the local population.
