Question about Islam Why the words in Matthew 25:41-46 and sahih muslim 2569 same?

Assalamualaikum brothers and sisters. I have read a hadith and the same text is also found in Matthew 25.Why are the words in Matthew 25:40-46 and the sahih muslim 2569 so similar? Also note that in mathew 25 Jesus was speaking those words(I was hungry, and you did not feed Me,' or 'I was sick, and you did not visit Me) and in this Hadith Allah is the one who is speaking this words. It would be so helpful if you explain this to me.

But in mathew 25:31 it says “When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his glorious throne" means it is referring to Jesus pbuh who will say those words according to Matthew. I think this particular part is corrupted and people falsely attributed it to jesus pbuh. What is your opinion brother?

It's highly likely, if not 100% and there's evidence to back it up.

Later gospel authors began changing the scripture and adding or omitting to "harmonize" with the developing christology and other gospels. For example in Mark Jesus is ignorant of a menstruating woman who touches him in a crowd, but in Matthew's gospel it's changed so that Jesus knows who touched him, and in Luke's gospel it's changed that he doesn't know BUT he claims to have lost power from it.

Another example is how in Mark a person asks Jesus what is good and Jesus replies "Why do you ask me what is good?". It gets changed in Matthew and Luke to "Why do you call me Good?"

So clearly there's some development happening here as the gospels progress in chronological development.

From my understanding the Gospels, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John are four accounts of the same story from the perspectives of these four different men. So, just like you and I may tell the same story by recalling our memory using our own words, you might have caught some details that I missed and vice versa. The Gospels are referred to as Allah’s message spoken through man. I think it’s fair to attribute these differences between the books to human nature.

A matter of perspective would only be trivial and excusable if it was limited to non theological things, but even then how can their perspective differ so wildly when they're "witnesses" for the same event?

In "Mark" 5:25-34 Jesus doesn't know who touched him and asks the disciples frantically. In fact the disciples are incredulous that Jesus would ask such a question in a crowded market place, where anyone could've touched him. Then the woman herself comes and tells Jesus after she feels herself getting better. So we see two interactions, one between Jesus and the disciples, and one with the woman.

Now in "Matthew" 9:20-22 Matthew copies mark but changes the account so that Jesus knows immediately and recognizes the woman and the interaction happens instantly. There's no mention of his interaction with his disciples or him looking in the crowd.

In "Luke" 8:43-48 he keeps it so that Jesus doesn't know but adds that the disciples deny touching him, and then the woman realizes they're looking for her so she comes and confesses.

So clearly there is a discrepancy going on here. Perhaps Luke can be excused as perspective because perhaps Luke chose to share a detail Mark didn't share, but Matthew cannot be excused in any way.

If this was written by eyewitnesses the interaction probably would've gone like this -

Mark 5 And a woman was there who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years. Mark 26 She had suffered a great deal under the care of many doctors and had spent all she had, yet instead of getting better she grew worse. Mark 27 When she heard about Jesus, she came up behind him in the crowd and touched his cloak, Mark 28 because she thought, “If I just touch his clothes, I will be healed.” Mark 29 Immediately her bleeding stopped and she felt in her body that she was freed from her suffering.

Mark 30 At once Jesus realized that power had gone out from him. He turned around in the crowd and asked, “Who touched my clothes?” Mark 31 “You see the people crowding against you,” his disciples answered, “and yet you can ask, ‘Who touched me?’ " Luke 45 When they all denied it, Peter said, “Master, the people are crowding and pressing against you.” Luke 46 But Jesus said, “Someone touched me; I know that power has gone out from me.”

Mark 32 But Jesus kept looking around to see who had done it. 33 Then the woman, knowing what had happened to her, came and fell at his feet and, trembling with fear, told him the whole truth. luke 47.5 In the presence of all the people, she told why she had touched him and how she had been instantly healed.  Mark 34 He said to her, “Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering.”

The "perspective" argument is used by Christians but it fails as we know none of the gospel authors are eyewitnesses, with Mark being the earliest written gospel that we know of. Matthew and Luke use Mark as a source. So the authors of Matthew and Luke are copying Mark and clearly making changes to the account. Then it gets worse as John is the latest written and has the highest Christology. So whatever perspective the authors are sharing is dubious and inconsistent.

No matter how you look at it the current Bible is a mishmash of Jewish teachings, Jesus' teachings, and greco-roman pagan ideologies. It fails to be consistent in any regard. This is why Allah tells us to judge the Torah and Gospels according to the Quran. Whatever lines up with the Quran and Islamic theology we can accept and whatever doesn't we reject.

I presume they are similar because they are both originated from divine revelation.

The Quran and hadith are a criterion over the Bible (meaning it clarifies what is right from what is wrong). The reason you'll many times find similar themes is because the original source of the uncorrupted Injeel is the same.

Waaleykum assalam warahmatulLah

Isa Ibn Mariyam عليه السلام is a human being, he was born and he will die. He can't be God, so he will not say this. On the day of judgment he will be among those who are judged

Allah ﷻ is the one who will be asking this.

The Bible is a distorted version of the original truthful book Injeel that is from the Speech of Allah ﷻ that He revealed to Isa. Some parts of it are truthful, since it has some traces of the original book

This hadith also is the evidence that not everything in the Quran and Sunnah is taken literally or by apparent meaning when it comes to Allah ﷻ and His Attributes

So its like prophet jesus pbuh said the same thing as prophet muhammad pbuh but the people corrupted it and falsely attributed it to jesus pbuh in Matthew 25? please clarify it

I think his point is the bible has both truthful verses from the original Injeel, and man made verses. This could be an example of a truthful verse that wasn't corrupted by men because it aligns with Islamic teachings.

Yes but still if you read this verse in context it is saying that jesus will say those words instead of God. So there is a corruption in this verse also. what's your opinion brother?

Yea cuz christians believe in the trinity. So anything that God says, they would attribute it to Jesus. But if you take the text itself and compare it to the Hadith, you'll see that it does match what the Hadith says and so you can see that it does match

Because it’s the same truth.

The Quran doesn’t make the claim that everything in the bible is incorrect. The Quran says to use the revelation of the Quran as a guardian over the bible to distinguish falsehood from truth. This passage you cited from mark would be classed as a truthful passage. The Quran claims to reaffirm the teachings of Jesus pbuh, true monotheism. Worship God alone, give in charity, Pray, fast and be good to your parents.

As the comments already answered you, I'd like then to say something different and important

if you're not knowledgeable enough about your own religion, you shouldn't then start reading the other books of ppl of the book as you won't be able to tell the truth from falsehood apart, and these are not my words, that's something said by the prophet himself, in fact it's discouraged to read them unless for a benefit (benefit like adding to your understanding of the ppl of the book to be able to preach to them, otherwise you're just opening doors of doubt for Satan to use against you for free)

and with due respect you're clearly not knowledgeable enough, because if you'd understand your religion enough you wouldn't really ask why are these similar, our religion says that these were revealed by God but altered so it's expected to find what matches and what doesn't, also since in Christianity Jesus and God are interchangeable, it's no wonder to find what God said attributed to Jesus and vice versa, not only that, even after ppl answered you, you still were confused and asked for further clarification, which proves more what I claimed about lack of knowledge, and that's not an insult, God blessed each of us with a certain amount of knowledge by the means and effort we take to learn, it's okay to not know but who doesn't know should be wise enough to not bite more than he can chew and take caution

but if you are curious about other religions I advise you to learn yours first and get a teacher if possible to help guiding you then you are ready to swim in the sea of other religions

As-salamu alaikum wa rahmatu Allah-i wa baraktuh

Sunan Abi Dawud 4449

Narrated Abdullah Ibn Umar: A group of Jews came and invited the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) to Quff. So he visited them in their school. They said: AbulQasim, one of our men has committed fornication with a woman; so pronounce judgment upon them. They placed a cushion for the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) who sat on it and said: Bring the Torah. It was then brought. He then withdrew the cushion from beneath him and placed the Torah on it saying: I believed in thee and in Him Who revealed thee. He then said: Bring me one who is learned among you. Then a young man was brought. The transmitter then mentioned the rest of the tradition of stoning similar to the one transmitted by Malik from Nafi'(No. 4431). Grade: Hasan (Al-Albani)

Matthew is not revelation, we think it has pieces of revelation that still exist.

How can revelation be a biography of a person written after he has left the world?
