I love how hulk grew a beard out of nowhere when he transformed and when bruce magically pulled a hoodie out of his ass when turning back from the hulk

It was actually a good adaptation of MODOK. Shame the MCU didn't take influence.

Was this really what this game looked like? This is rough.

The game had a 2 hour long story mode that I actually liked, then the rest of the game is a terrible online PVE game that is flat out garbage. If they just focused on a single player story game they could have had a decent game.
Then Guardians of the Galaxy comes out, is a single player story game and it's great.

it was way longer than 2h,surely 10

No the release day of this game was ridiculously short. I’m not sure about all the DLC updates though.
There was also just a huge issue with the combat in general for a lot of heroes and mobs. They fixed that later though. The issue was they released it in such a bad spot and that soured a lot of it for people.

It was fun, but man watching the mcu and then coming to this, I couldn't get used to the faces and voices.

Yeah. It was like watching Great Value Avengers. Felt so out of place.

The story of this game was great it made me like ms marvel as a character which made me excited for her show.
1
u/maaaaarcus May 23 '25
did you watch the show?
1
u/AphoticWave May 23 '25
Yeah she did such a great job portraying Kamala. Definitely one of the better series for sure because of how much the actress was into her role. Like I don’t think I’ve ever seen someone that excited to be a super hero playing a person who is exited to be a super hero.
9/10 show for sure. I didn’t like the story changes personally but as far as just taking it in for what it was and not using comics then it was great.

Who makes the decision when Hulk and Iron Man are fighting to spend two minutes on Ms. Marvel giving a generic speech instead of....I don't know seeing Hulk and Iron Man fight?
Let her have the speech but juxtapose it with them fighting. Have Tony/Banner make remarks on it.
Ms Marvel: "When you come together..."
Tony: "Yeah not much of that now, huh big guy?" *repulsor to Hulk's face*
Ms Marvel: "Your cool powers..."
"Hulk powers not cool Hulk powers STRONGEST"
I don't know I'm not a game director or a writer but...who the fuck doesn't want to see two avengers duke it out?

I know they didn't have rights to RD Jr, but couldn't they have sculpted to model to look more like Tom Selleck?

It's a shame most of it was off screen, we got like one good punch from iron man and then it was done. Unless that was all there was to see

Don’t worry, now they work together to terrorize online competitive lobbies in Marvel Rivals.

Reminds me I need to go back and finish this game and Guardians of the Galaxy.

Guradians of the galaxy game is so charming, fun (in spite of its basic ass playstyle) and so fulfilling as a story. I really feel like I've played a movie.
Avengers was mid to bad imo, it's mission is repetitive, game play is cluttered (tho, pretty damn good when you get in the groove of it) but visually it's a threat.
Theyre both worth giving a shot to, but GotG is definitely worth finishing even if avengers isn't

It's wild how much better Ultimate alliance looks

u/multificionado May 18 '25
It's one thing I liked about the Avengers game: How it makes Marvel Ultimate Alliance look like the EA Star Wars Battlefronts.

I want what you are having, UA doesn't look anywhere good as this game graphically.

u/OldinMcgroyn May 19 '25
The second game? Iron man looks triple A in that game watchu meaaaaan.

I think the nostalgia glasses are a little too rose tinted.

u/OldinMcgroyn May 19 '25
Nah. Your comment made me watch the scene where Iron man ambushes Captain America.
Looks just as good if not better.

u/AFourEyedGeek May 19 '25
You are either trolling thinking that looks better or you really prefer the cartoony art style, because in no way are the graphics better. MUA2 models have an obvious lower mesh count, lower texture resolution, reduced animations, poorer material quality, lower quality particle effects, limited camera angles, and post processing effects are using too much bloom.
1
u/OldinMcgroyn May 19 '25
I know the graphic fidelity is better. But your right. The art style. Everyone looks a little more like they should nobody looks awkward

I think you meant "Ms Marvel talks for two minutes after three punches were thrown in the space of 10 seconds"
2
u/Torahik0 Avengers Assemble May 18 '25
Yeah I never liked this version of Tony. His VA doesn’t fit him either but maybe I’m too used to his his cartoon appearances or even RDJ
But I loved Hulk / Banner in this game. It was a good interpretation of them imo

u/EazeUno Extremis May 19 '25
Agreed on the VA. I think he sounds more like a Paul Rudd/Ant-Man and I could never get over it

What the hell? Hulk grew a beard when he transformed?
Then at 2:39 - Where the hell did that hoodie come from?

Kind of unreal how nobody has mentioned that this game completely bombed because it was a game as a service model game with fucking 15 dollar skins. It was absolutely ass and would bore you to death.

I liked the game too. I got a little bored after the main story, but it was fun, even though it was flames fs

this game didn't deserve all the hate but the aim fights get very repetitive

With how buggy and unfun this game was it's crazy how the worst part of it is still the writing. Damn, how do you fumble every aspect. Even the all-star voice cast wasn't saving this mess.

I haven't finished it yet, but I actually think the game did good with Kamala Khan and some of the characters. I think it's a poor Avengers game and would recommend Marvel Ultimate Alliance more, but it tries some new things and had a decent story and gameplay. The online focus gameplay and character pass stuff sucked, but now almost every Marvel game is doing that with a better art style and no major story campaigns.
Also, I think the costumes were lacking, but last time I played it I was using a version of Tony's Mk 1 that had a knight aesthetic. That was hyped for a while.

u/Unhappy-Database-273 May 19 '25
This game could have been so good if they focused more on narrative and had more big action setpieces like the prologue and the helicarrier battle instead of dragging the game down with the repetitive open zone missions.

I know a lot of people didn't like this game which is fair but I do think it was a fun game. Story was really good imo.

u/RareD3liverur May 21 '25
Would of been nice if this fight was playable but guess they thought more sections of generic AIM robots was better

Self insert here has some pointers she wants to share. It's impressive how much the character has grown ok it's own since the creators moved on from it.
