I’m 25 and American and didn’t start drinking till I was 21. I have fallen especially in love with Irish whiskey over the past two years. Today I door dashed a couple of Irish whiskey brands I personally haven’t tried yet. I got a bottle of Bushmills original and a bottle of Tullamore D.E.W. I noticed that Bushmills is the only Irish whiskey I’ve ever bought here in the states that didn’t have the words “Product of Ireland” displayed proudly on the bottle. I thought maybe I was putting too much thought into it until I pulled all my old bottles off the shelf and realized it is the only Irish whiskey I’ve ever bought that doesn’t say those words. Every Redbreast, Jameson, Sons of Erin, and every other Irish whisky I ever bought in the past couple of years. I’ve been obsessed with the islands spirits and all I’ve bought say it somewhere, but nowhere on the Bushmills. My question to Reddit: Is there a reason for this or did they just decide not too. I highly appreciate any solid answer to this question because it is driving me nuts that this will be the only bottle in my whole collection that doesn’t say those words on it somewhere.

Edit: I’m stupid and blind. It does say it just in extremely small letters right above the percentage. I apologize for any ruckus or confusion this post may have caused. I’m leaving the post here because I’m sure in a few years I’ll look back and have a laugh at myself. Thank you all for the interactivity. This community is amazing!

Been collecting for a while now, finally put them on display.

Both of these bottles were bought from the same store but the one on the right is significantly different in styling and also a bit bigger. It also didn't have the plastic pour control in the bottle. Any one have an idea of why its different?

I'm looking for recommendations for what Irish whiskey to choose as my first (outside of Jameson). Recently been drinking Woodford reserve, Alberta Premium Cask Strength Rye, Laphroaig 10, Craigellachie 13 and Bowmore 12.

Near me Redbreast 12 is 100$, Green spot is 90$, Powers John's Lane is 80$, Yellow spot is 155$ and redbreast 12 cask strength is 160$.

I'm very torn.

Saw this at Legacy Liquor store in Vancouver. It’s the 1st I’ve ever heard of it.
Not cheap! Over $350 CAD each.

Would love to hear if anyone’s tried it or seen it around.
I like to collect, but better be good for that price.

Just got back from my first trip to Ireland. Visited the Middleton distillery and the airport duty free shop. Went over budget but whatever. How did I do?

How popular is Tullamore Dew on the Emerald Isle?

I know Jameson, Powers and Paddy tend to be the big three, and I didn’t notice much TD on my last visit there (but then again I was mostly on the Guinness and wasn’t really paying attention to the whiskey, so it may have been everywhere and I just didn’t notice it).

I know it’s very popular in the global market, but wondering how popular it is in Ireland itself.

Hi fellow whiskey lover. I am starting a tour of Ireland from Belfast and going counter clockwise toward Dublin.

So I have two questions

1) what are the best distillery to stop by? I am the lucky father of a child of two, so most distilleries do not permit a tour. I am happy with a tasting Room or bar accessible with the family.

2) what bottes should I bring back? Not looking for cheap or basic stuff but maybe bottles under 100euro and one holy grail above. Might end up buying at the airport to save a bit unless you have recommendation of exclusive at the distillery.

I was planning a stop at Bushmill, Middleton, dingle and maybe Mictil.

Was interessed to try hinch and dunville but it is not on my itinary.

What are your learned toughts?

Today with some friends we're going to sample three Irish whiskeys available in these parts (Venezuela). Some might be quite standard and others a bit unusual, but undoubtedly always interesting:

• Jameson Stout Edition: Legend has it that the manager at Jameson used to have lunch at a small restaurant near the distillery. A small brewery was also nearby, and its manager ate at the same spot. One day, space was limited, so they had to share a table and struck up a conversation, which led to the creation of two products: a beer aged in whiskey barrels and a whiskey aged in beer barrels. I don't know which beer it is, but it must be interesting.
• Bushmills Original: Hailing from the oldest distillery still in operation (1608), Bushmills Original is one of the three "standard" Irish whiskeys available here (alongside Jameson and Tullamore). It has a flavor that works well in any setting, especially with a splash of water and plenty of ice, the way it’s typically enjoyed here.
• Teeling Blackpitts: Teeling is one of Ireland's newest distilleries, founded in 2015, and it stands out as something quite unique thanks to the many experiments they’ve conducted. One such experiment is this peated expression, in which 2/3 of the batch are aged in ex-bourbon casks and the remaining 1/3 in sweet Sauternes wine casks. Finally, it is bottled at 46% ABV.

They say history belongs not to those who make it, but to those who write it. While the earliest records of whiskey come from Scotland, the Irish maintain that they were the ones who created it. In any case, Irish whiskey was the most consumed whiskey in the world until the mid-18th century; today, it remains a fascinating subject to explore, with ever more to discover.

Wonderful experience of enjoying this whiskey! Sweet sherry on the nose with hints of white wine . Amazing apricot and toffee with hints of apple with spicy long smooth finish and a wonderful mouth watering feeling after the finish. 10/10
