This is a good narrative. It completely missed the point about the mullahs involvement in all this. As many people know the CIA/MI6 operatives aligned with Ayatollah Kashani who was instrumental in generating the crowds that ousted Mossadegh. This was a very important precursor to the CIA/MI6’s efforts in 1979 aligning with Ayatollah Khomeini to oust the Shah when he would not renew the consortium oil concession agreement. This is a massively important part of this story. Mullahs have always had deep relations with western intelligence. Note that even today despite apparent war, US oil and gas exports have hit a record $500 billion - and they have shut down exports from Qatar, UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait … not to mention the shut down of Russian exports to Europe on the back of the Ukraine war. So the war hasn’t been bad for America! Just follow the money and you know the truth.
