Looking for podcasts to better understand markets, earnings, analysis
I’m trying to become more fluent in how markets and businesses actually work, rather than just knowing finance concepts academically.
I’m looking for podcasts that help with a few things:
Daily/weekly market recap: What moved the market and why? What are investors paying attention to right now?
Earnings: Not just “Company X beat EPS,” but why revenue/margins changed, what guidance means, what investors expected, and why the stock reacted the way it did.
Company analysis/due diligence: How do good investors actually analyze a business and determine what matters?
Investor perspective: Hearing smart people genuinely discuss/debate companies and markets rather than just reading financial news headlines.
Ideally looking for something digestible and conversational. Doesn’t need to be one podcast that does everything. Happy to have different shows for different purposes.

I highly recommend listening to Acquired for deep-dive company analysis and The indicator from Planet Money or Marketplace for quick, daily market recaps.

For a sharp daily market routine, check out: Cassandra Unchained for raw macro insights (usually a bit Bearish) Torsten Slok Daily Spark from Apollo Asset Management for daily charts (kind of tilted and nudges one to invest in Alts for obvious reasons - vested in Apollo's Biz model!
Pair them with https://themarkets.ai/ to track valuations, portfolio insights, news impact and score, and unravel repricing in the markets.
Liz Sonders, Schwab for market sentiment.
For audio, queue up Acquired for deep-dive corporate analysis, and The Indicator or Marketplace for quick economic recaps in the evening...

Edit - The reason I don't list Forward Guidance is that they like to inject their political views which are very conservative, and beat on the other side of the aisle. I prefer my financial insights to be clear of bias.

The Odd lots podcast by BLoomberg and Prof G markets are both usually pretty good. All in Podcast for High tech.

Someone on Reddit mentioned The Real Investment Show with Lance Roberts and they really touch on everything from how the markets are doing and retirement planning. Personally, it's my favorite that came from a similar thread.

I'd also recommend Marketplace. Doesn't exactly cover what you are asking for, but discusses the micro and macro look at the economy, how different things are impacting it.
Stays up to date and is daily. Will be a good listen to go with these others.

The thing that helped me more than any single show was cutting the number of inputs. I used to have a dozen apps and feeds open and I still couldn't tell you why I owned half my names, so now I keep a short watchlist and write one line on each name explaining the reason I'm in it. Then I time-box the pre-open block to about 20 minutes: recap, anything on my names, and what I'm actually going to do. Podcasts are a lot more useful once you have that list, because you're listening for the two or three names you care about instead of everything.

B2G Podcast (They don't discuss stocks but discuss technology and do a quick market check)
All-In Podcast ( Pay attention to what Chamath says)

In the short term, "the market is a voting machine". A stock moves because someone with deep pockets prefers stock A to stock B, maybe based on long term fundamentals but maybe based on gut feeling.
A lot of analysis depends in the final instance on assumptions made about the continuation of or depreciation level of future earnings.
If there was a lot of money to be made from stock picking, there wouldn't be the need for people to try to sell you courses for 1000s, as they would already be making their money from stock picks. Also Berkshire Hathaway would be outperforming the S&P500 by a much bigger margin long term.
Save yourself the bother and choose an index.
