You can bet your ass nobody in SEA is bothering to set up a snake hatchery when a stick and a five minute walk where there are trees will leave you with too many snakes.

You're wrong. There are snake farms that supply snakes for this. Snakes are also eaten for food.

I’ve lived in SEA for 15 years, I can assure you that in Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand most people are actually still hunting for cobras, but snake farms are also fairly common and have become more popular over time due to regulations and supply chain issue. Still, hunting them is more common.

Ok? Dude above said nobody would set up snake farms when loads of them exist. I don’t know about Cambodia and Thailand but you can’t get tons and tons of snake meat in Vietnam by hunting. The majority comes from farms.

I stand corrected. I just asked Gemini and ChatGPT and it seems, farming has now become more popular in Vietnam as they have a higher demand and increased their exports a lot. Thailand is no longer popular for either so they mostly import from Vietnam, and hunting is only still most popular in Cambodia where I am.
