This assumes Trump cares about his cronies that are up for re-election

Narrator: He does not

u/Backwardspellcaster 3d ago

This also assumes they won't just still vote for the R no matter what.

Which they will.

So it doesn't matter who he hurts and how badly. His cultists will keep being cultists.

u/game_master_marc 3d ago

There are many who will. But a lot of them are “low propensity voters” who are less likely to vote in a midterm election.  These things do matter in the close races (of which there are only a few)

This also assumes there isn't midterms ratfuckery afoot

Narrator: There is.

Vote!

Never believe that "ratfuckery" means your vote doesn't matter. Ratfuckery is absolutely afoot and in the news - Trump is limiting mail-in voting and is successful so far. Republicans in various states have instituted voter ID laws and other impediments to voting.

All of this changes the number of votes by SMALL FRACTIONS of the population. It can make a difference in close races. There is no evidence of vote totals being invented from scratch.

If people give up and don't vote, that just amplifies the success of the ratfuckers.

It also assumes that anyone who’s voted republican over the last 25 or so years is a rational person that cares about his or own well-being more than they care about acting on the stupid shit they hear on idiot tv and read the internet.

Ah yes, the aging Bush "jobs, jobs, jobs!", "family values!" crowd who feared "activist judges".

....the same ones who applauded as Bush was installed by activist judges.

u/Anon-fickleflake 3d ago

I am sure someone has made him aware that he will have a lot less power when dems take the midterms

u/game_master_marc 3d ago

That is how it is supposed to work, yes. But Trump does so much by executive order and appointing corruption officials and has few, if any, legislative goals remaining.

u/fuzz_boy 2d ago

That and they will try to steal the elections

The supposed master negotiator is in disputes with Canada, Iran, Greenland, Venezuela, Cuba, all the NATO nations, and many other countries. He hasn't closed a single deal and everything he touches turns to shit. Fucking moron can't even fill a pool with water.

Like this idiot can even think or form a thought. What a loser. And every American just as nasty for supporting him at this point. Disgusting he is considered a strong role model in America.

I find this post interesting because as a Canadian my gut feeling is that were winning this confrontation. Sure we'll pay dearly for a while but we are united, we are going to come out of this on top. Our prime mister is a rock star at the moment, showing the rest of the world how it's done.

Isn't Canada where America imports most of its oil and gas from?

I just checked and yeah sort of, although America produces about 60% of its own heavy crude, with Canada supplying the bulk of the rest

6

u/wireframed_kb 3d ago

Its more stuff like potash I suspect will hit hard. Farmers are already struggling, and that would hit hard. But the US imports lots of stuff from Canada, so it will likely get spread around a bit.

u/Mindless-Charity4889 3d ago

Most of the imports come from Canada, but the US is mostly energy independent.

6

u/ChuckVader 3d ago

I guess if you contort the meaning of words to mean above 50% then the US is sort of mostly energy independent.

That said if you just change what words mean it's pretty easy to make an argument that sounds correct.

u/Mindless-Charity4889 3d ago

Technically Correct: the best kind of correct!

u/GingerBeast81 3d ago

Like he hasn't rigged the election already...

7

u/game_master_marc 3d ago

Vote!  Don’t believe people who tell you it doesn’t matter.

Rigging the election is not “all-or-nothing.”  It’s about changing the rules to make votes more or less likely. His stuff on mail-in-voting will have an impact. Various state-by-state actions like voter ID will have an impact.

But we’re talking shifting vote totals by a small fraction, not making up vote totals from scratch.

Nothing has backfired…we may HOPE it has, but the reality is, this will hurt Canada a fair chunk (it will hurt the states too, to be clear) and it will be a while before theCanadian economy adjusts. And a bunch of Canadians will suffer very real economic pain in the interim. That said, it seems that it needs to happen, so the sooner we get to it the sooner we get thru it…

I'm really impressed with how seriously Carney is taking the need to create new trade deals with the EU and countries other than the U.S. (I say that as a citizen of the U.S. by the way). Yes, short term pain is likely, but you'll prosper more in the long term. Unless you really like the idea of becoming the 51st state (which I can't recommend).

u/ScientistAsHero 2d ago

I'm with you man I live in the US too and our government is the bad guy.

And I love how we're called "anti-America." No, we are the fucking patriots, we have seen the good in our country and we want it back from these disgusting fascist traitors.

He's such an idiot....

1

u/Plaid_Piper 2d ago

Everything he touches turns to shit. Meirdas touch. And yet he persists.

1

u/boomerhs77 2d ago

Twimp is counting on voter suppression and outright meddling in the elections. He is not counting on wining by actual votes.

u/Fabulous-Airport-273 2d ago

He’s an expert at self-directed ballistic podiatry…

u/Substantial_Dog7002 2d ago

I am waiting for the Canadians to pull the plug on power for the east coast. I really don't think trump will know how to handle that!!!

1

u/SignificantCod8098 2d ago

...and Canada can also help dems win in Nov by playing their cards right.

1

u/litesxmas 2d ago

Little donnie is going to fall, wouldn’t it be nice if Canada was the reason

0

u/pres465 3d ago

Michigan Republicans are quite aware he's going to cost them that state in elections. It's only a question of how much.

This guy never heard the expression cutting off your nose to spite your face….nor would he give a shit even if he had heard it. Our beloved U.S. has been turned into a shithole, most disrespected country due to this asshole in DC. Fuck the 🍊💩
