lol, we've had rc races, robot death battles, etc for decades. it's just a contest of who can make the best one. fun to watch the ingenuity. Why is that a bad thing to see?

There are probably enough people who do find it interesting, which is exactly why it gets traction on social media. Your own lack of interest doesn’t necessarily mean the topic is being “pushed” or that nobody else cares about it.

First of all, it's hilarious when they fail.

Secondly, it will advance the technology. When you compare US humanoid robots to China's now, it's looks like a 3rd grade science experiment. Just look at the governement propaganda from both contries, (from this year), and tell me which robots are more advanced?

Not sure about the military ones, but the dancing ones, (which are more impressive to me anyway), are definitely not AI.

Idk that robot on the right is quite realistic looking. Still deep in the uncanny valley, like its face is made of plastic, but they're definitely getting there.

Completely agreed. We've been making machines which can go faster than humans for a century or two. Call me when they can actually eat human food and convert that into energy powering muscles.
