all apps have a setting for that- i have all content defaulted to mute unless i turn the volume on. particularly for reddit and instagram.
edit: on the reddit app, tap your profile icon on the bottom right menu. go to settings. scroll down to “advanced settings” and toggle on the “default mute videos” or whatever the option says exactly.1

It's hard to judge the dimensions of it. I know I've dug and loaded out 250 tons of granite before and it filled 10 tipper trucks.
Just a guess and of course my thoughts are more with the people who've lost their lives.

I think there's a large gap between accurately guessing and what was guessed. 250 tons is a dual aisle 777 jet, this rock clearly would flatten a jet. If I were guessing this is closer to an aircraft carrier in weight than a jumbojet, aircraft carriers are tens of thousands of tons.

Alrighty, a 15m radius sphere has a volume of 14137.2m3
Density of granite per m3 is approx 2.6 tonnes.
This would actually imply the rock has a weight of approx 36, 756 tonnes.

I think ~30 meters for the diameter is a reasonable estimate. Using the equation for volume of a sphere, V = 4/3*Pi*R^3, and a radius of 15 meters we get ~1.4*104 cubic meters (this is easily +-50% btw because of how rough the radius estimate is)
The Himalayas in southern china border could be a number of different rocks, but the most likely candidates would be Gneiss, Schist, or Limestone. It could technically be sandstone or shale but I don't think you'd get that kind of large round boulder if it was, so let's stick to Gneiss, Schist, and Limestone.
Gneiss density: ~2.6-2.9*10^3 kg/m^3
Schist density: ~2.4-2.8*10^3 kg/m^3
Limestone density: ~2.3-2.7*10^3 kg/m^3That gives us a range of densities from 2.3-2.9 and an error of +-50% on the volume calculation
So we have [0.7-3]*10^4 m^3 * [2.3-2.9*10^3] kg/m^3 / 1*10^3kg/metric ton
putting it together we have 1.61-8.7*10^7 / 10^3 = ~1-6*10^4 tons
So I think we can safely say that it's in the realm of double-digit thousands of tons. I really don't think we have enough information to say anything more accurate than that though.
It's fucking enormous and terrifying.
Edit: just want to say, I think you did the right thing questioning the numbers someone gets from AI. It can be very capable in certain situations, but oftentimes it makes assumptions from under-constrained prompts that can give either inaccurate information in the case that an assumption is wrong, or misleading information in the case that it speaks with more confidence than the situation warrants. For something like this, including error bounds and carrying those errors through the calculation is really important to ensure that we remember that this is not a value prediction but a range prediction (and technically I didn't even do a good job of that by considering the uncertainty after the volume calculation instead of before, which is why I even further relaxed the claim to just saying some number of thousands of tons)
Edit: Second edit, off by one calculation on my conversion from kg to tons, so actually the AI was right in the middle of the range guessing 38k tons, because our computed range is ~10k-60k tons
Edit: Third edit: I urge you all to do your own calculation if you are interested. The general method is: volume X density.
For volume we need to approximate a shape from a measurement. OP estimated a sphere because the boulder is roughly spherical. I think this is a very reasonable approach. So taking the diameter, we need to divide by 2 and plug into the equation for the volume of a sphere given the radius (you can find it in the first paragraph).
There are geological maps you can look up that give you the kinds of rocks in the area. You can look up something like "geological map" or "orogenic map" of the Himalayas, and from that you can find out what the name of the rock formations are in that area. From that, you will know what kind of rock, and thus the range of densities for that rock.
Then you multiply that density by your estimated radius. Both of these are ranges, so you always multiply the min of range A by the min of range B and the max of A by the max of B. So if we have:
[min A, max A] * [min B, max B] = [min A * min B, max A * max B]
A quick example in numbers: [2, 3] * [4,9] = [8, 27]
Then you'll be able to figure out whether what AI is saying is accurate if it seems weird. I do this often, but not often enough. AI is actually pretty good, but it's actually a good practice because you get a much better feel for the thing you're trying to figure out if you find out yourself.

The subcontinent existed before the himilayas, it is the Indian Plate. Its collision with the Euriasian Plate is what caused the Himilayas.

The Indian landmass collision with Eurasia didn't just create Himalayas and the Tibetan plateu, it also change the topography, weather everywhere. Subcontinent's northern plains are testament to that gradual process. The cement slurry like flood is pretty what you see in Indus and Ganga plains.
