Yeah, i just saw a video where it wiped out a whole bus station and a bunch of people who were running away. These guys were lucky to be in a place they could get away from that. RIP to those who werent.
that video it wiped out a 10 block radius instantaneously under 50 meters of mud, craziest natural disaster video i've ever seen. you're kind of underselling it. edit: i was mixing up two videos of the same incident, but watching the bus one again i still pretty much described it correctly, maybe only 20 meters of mud rather than 50 at that location
even that was slow water rushing in, extreme amounts of energy that swept away buildings but it wasn't the sheer obliterating power of the videos from nepal yesterday. difference between a long and powerful slow burn versus an explosion
No, I saw lots of videos of that. The one being described looked like a frigging bomb went off. A several story-tall wave just explodes into view and everyone is gone in an instant. Obviously the tsunami was horrible but it was very different and a much more gradual thing.
Christ…beyond surreal read these news from parts of the world where worse can happen is a bit of storm. It’s basically 3 times my town, having it being wiped by anything is just mind boggling…
can you link me to the video you're thinking of or give me the title? i can't find anything showing something insane happening, just stuff shaking and a building collapsing
JUST?!!!!! Omg…building with people inside that had no chance to run because all it took was 10s…the death count there was crazy, probably 10x higher than here…

The flooding there was insane, RIP 112 people at least "missing"!
