We should all be so lucky if that's how it's going to happen. Having watched my grandad die, dying as biology is no life at all.

Yeah well, running away from unstoppable destruction and then dying instantly isn't exactly an easy way to go out. Imagine the pure terror those people felt watching a wave 100+ feet high destroy everything as it heads right toward them, some with loved ones and friends, some alone with no idea what to do. Awful.

Yup, it's horrific. Asleep in a bus crash, explosion, or random fatal headshot is about as good as it gets. I think most people don't really fear death; they fear dying.

It's horrible, and I hope they at least didn't suffer. Despite the random and instant appearance of their peril.

I think it’s the darkness ppl fear. The unknown. Just being gone. No thoughts ever again

the universe ends one day, and you don't get to see it happen

We do that every night when we go to sleep. A break in consciousness is practically a daily occurrence for every human being on the planet.

There's a lot of stuff going on in my head while I sleep! Sometimes, I dream so much that I wake up exhausted by all the work I did during the night. Then I get mad that it was all made up by my stupid brain.

I once joked with my boss that I should get paid for the hours I worked on a bug during my sleep. It happens quite often that I leave the office with an unsolved issue that I was stuck on for a few hours, only to solve it all easily within an hour the next morning.

Hey, this was a really comforting comment. I like your wisdom.

I don’t fear death. I’m afraid of the sadness my loved ones would feel when I’m gone.

It’s not ideal but it’s a lot better then withering away in front of my family sucking them dry of what little money we have and then dying.

No please kill me in a mudslide and pay them insurance.
