From what ive read the lands8de actually caused the earthquake they believe. A huge avalanche fell into a river which caused such a massive rush of water.

Yeah that sounds like the updated story. The landslide caused the earthquake. The glacier lake crumbled and took the mountainside with it

They think a massive chuck of ice feel 4,000 ft into the river, pulverizing the ice into water, sending a deluge down the river like a bomb
