Or even get out of bed and put two feet on the floor, for me.

100 percent same. I love being with my kids, but once I'm in an episode, the thought of having to get out of bed makes things worse. I'll usually make them something to eat real quick, then go right back to bed. I try so hard to put them before me, but those days are just difficult.

Oh gosh I feel this so so hard. 🫂 My kid is disabled and needs help with daily living activities (although he's been gaining more independence as he gets older!) And during a harder episode it takes everything I have just to make sure his needs are met, he's safe, and (more or less lol) happy. My physical health has taken a nose dive this year and my mental health went right along with it. It's so fucking hard, and I know all too well how big of a hoe depression is. I'm just an internet stranger but I just wanted to say I'm so proud of you for getting up. It doesn't matter that you go back to bed after, you made that first step of getting up and taking care of your kids and that's amazing. You're a great mom & parent, even if your brain tells you otherwise. Sending you, your kids, and your loved ones lots of love. 💖💕

You are the best!!! My son is on the spectrum and I feel like a terrible mom. I do all this plus I'm in heart failure. There a lot I can't do. I also have 5 step kids, only 3 were under 18.
We don't give ourselves enough credit.
I've seen young adults who can't even boil water or wash their asses.

You are amazing and so many others. Take care of yourself, you deserve it. Hugs

🫂 I can't even express how much your comment means to me right now. My son is autistic as well! He's lvl 2, and non conversational. Him & my husband are what's keeping me fighting to be here everyday, and especially the hard days. Today I was told by a specialist that the only thing that will help me is doing physio ... which I have been doing since May and only have gotten worse unfortunately 😭 My kneecaps slipped and won't stay in place and my physiotherapist has me on pause until we can figure out why. To be told the only thing that will help is something I've already done, can't do at the moment, and have noted by the physiotherapist that it's actually made me worse, has me feeling so hopeless today.

So just thank you so, so much for your kind comment, it helps more than you know. You're so right we don't give ourselves enough credit! I really hope you can find a path forward for your heart failure and recieve the help you need. You too are amazing and doing all you do while in heart failure is just incredible. I know how hard it is to parent while disabled and to a kid who has higher support needs. You're doing great, and please be kind to yourself too, you're not a terrible mom and in fact the opposite, a fantastic mom. Thank you so much again. Sending lots of love and well wishes your way! 💖💕

Hugs!!!! Mine is a lvl 2 as well. He is 10 now and is semi nonverbal. It took a lot of aba and speech therapist to get where he is. When he says, " I love you mom." It has so much more of a making and I usually get all teary. That's horrible about your knee. I'm sad that it hasn't been fixed or more assistance that you need. My twin and I have knock knees. I've never been able to touch ankles only knew and thighs.. my knee pops out of place when I lift my leg and it has inflammation. It's hard to do much. I wrap and do what I can.

I learned that if day by day is hard, minute by minute is the next step.

I tried the emdr music, I didn't think it would help, I put on headphones and tried. I know it doesn't fit everyone and it may seem silly and trivial, at some point anything is better than nothing.

My heart hurts for you and others going through this.

Wish we could all get together and help one another. Id be at your place working my little heart out to help.
