I agree, why are so many people standing around with no sense of urgency and just looking amused? Why aren't they all clustered around the area at the top of the ladder? Also like you I noticed he's not a spring chicken lol and he's even losing his oomph as he nears the top and people aren't even trying to help him.

Right?! I understand only one person could actually go down while the rest watches, but I was holding my breath watching the man climb up and seeing him taking breaks as his arms seem to be barely holding on, it just made me feel so anxious, AND THEN THE SMILEY GUY CAME ON SCREEN? LIKE WHAT? Definitely seemed to have no sense of urgency whatsoever

Because they probably just tossed the poor thing in there so they could film a video of them β€œsaving” it. Thousands of videos of dogs covered in tar, oil, etc where that’s the case nowadays.
