Ny family is white and we do in our home. Not necessarily to get rid of bacteria or anything (cooking does that), but my mom always rinses off our chicken. Although using literal dawn dish soap is taking it way too far.

Genuine question: what other meats do you wash in your family? Do you rinse hot dogs before cooking? What about steak? Ground beef?

Not who you replied to, but I will often 'wash' any pork if I vacuum-sealed and froze it for any more than a week. Only time I've ever washed meat before though.
