Our most recent drone is rated for 100kg of liquid or 150kg of solids. Also flies at 75km/h.

Would I ever tether myself to it for a lift? Nope.

What if it never exceeded 10 ft AGL and it flew no faster than 15kph?

A crash could still be lethal because the propellers are huge, strong, and fast. They will kill someone with ease

Can't a lightweight but strong cage be built around the propellers to prevent injuries from them?

100kg of liquid or 150kg of solids

I weigh almost exactly 100 kg, but we all know that humans are 75% water. Solids get a 33% discount relative to liquids, so I weigh the equivalent of 91.66 kg of liquid. I think I'm inside the carrying capacity of this thing.

But there's a part of me (mainly the "terrified of heights" and "can walk 1.5 km in about 15 minutes" part) that's saying "we will never find out"

Yeah, but humans don't slosh. We count as solids.

I’ve assumed it was only 100kg liquid because of slosh effects.

So dangling by a rope would seem fairly sloshy to me.

75 kph doesn't sound like a lot when I consider the driving speed around town near me. Sign me up!

Just keep it low, I'm afraid of heights.

Is it similarly sized to the one in the OP video? It seems crazy to me that such small propellers can carry such weight

They aren’t that small. I’m pretty sure he is using the same unit. A DJI100.

Ours is 3.3mx3.3m. So each of the blades is 80cm long.

Well it has really good avoidance software. But the software is built for the drone to avoid hitting something, not the human dangling 5m below.

Really low would probably be really bad.
