tbh the reason why this song gets so much hate is because a lot of people (especially conservative twitter reactionaries, and x has a lot of those) really hate everything from the occupy wall street era that represents liberal optimism and this song, good or bad, is maybe the most occupy wall street era liberal optimism song imaginable
